Showcase Sunday #5

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. The aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

This week’s Showcase Sunday is such an epic edition, with so many lovelies, me and Rachel seriously don’t know which to dive into first.

So these are the pretties I received over the last few weeks.

The Probability of Miracles by Wendy Wunder
Confessions of an Angry Girl by Louise Rozett
The Jelly Bean Crisis by Jolene Stockman
The Assassin's Curse by Cassandra Rose Clarke
Fall For You by Cecelia Gray
Immortal City by Scott Speer
The Assassin and the Pirate Lord by Sarah J. Maas

Thank you to Harlequin, Atomr blog tours, Angry Robot, NetGalley and Scholastic UK.

I was actually meant to read Probability of Miracles for my once upon a read-a-thon but I just didn’t get around to it. The reviews have been a mixed bunch; some loving it whereas others didn’t even finish it. But I’m in the mood for an achy read, so I will try to pick it up soon.

The Assassin and the Pirate Lord novella I managed to grab for free here. I absolutely loved Throne of Glass so I can’t wait to pick up all the novellas too!

Night Beach by Kirsty Eagar
Losing Lila by Sarah Alderson
Until I Die by Amy Plum
Alice in Zombieland by Gena Showalter
I Heart London by Lindsey Kelk

Thank you to Harlequin UK.

I seriously have the best book blogging friends ever. Thanks to Sam @ Realm of Fiction I was able to read Losing Lila. I thoroughly enjoyed this book; I’m just so sad at having to say bye to such a fantastic bunch of characters. Also thank you to Emily @ The Book Geek for Night Beach, I love Aussie books and Eagar’s latest book I’ve been meaning to get to for some time.

Now over to Rachel to see which lovelies she received.

Girl of Nightmares by Kendare Blake
Beautiful Lies by Jessica Warman
Ashen Winter by Mike Mullin
Amber House by Kelly Moore
Skinny by Donna Cooner
Deity by Jennifer L. Armentrout
ZOM-B by Darren Shan

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
The Diviners by Libba Bray
Carnival of Souls by Melissa Marr
The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
Stealing Parker by Miranda Kenneally
Prodigy by Marie Lu

I obtained all of these ARCs but one from the ALA, held here in Anaheim, California, June 23rd. I wasn't even planning on attending the ALA, as it was the day before I left on vacation but then I heard Tahereh Mafi would be giving away an ARC of Unravel Me and Miranda Kenneally would be giving away an ARC of Stealing Parker. At that point, I knew I had to go because I've been dying for those two books for ages! I ended up with so many amazing books and on top of it met most of the authors who wrote them. It was an amazing event!  Anyhow, I am really excited about each and every book. I will be attending this event next year for sure.

I must mention that Deity is a loan from an amazing friend out here in the States, Alexa from the blog Collections. She was so sweet to share her precious copy with me!

Tahereh Mafi
Sarah J. Maas

So many awesome reads that will certainly keep us entertained; let us know which goodies you received.

We also still have two giveaways open, you can win a signed arc of The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater here and to celebrate reaching 500 followers we are giving one lucky follower the chance to win a book of your choice (of up to £10) from the Book Depository here.

Wow, what a fantastic haul! I'm so envious. ;)

Jasprit, I also have Assassin's Curse, and am really excited to read it because of the glowing reviews! I'd love to own Alice in Zombieland too, but I haven't managed to get myself an ARC of it. :(

Rachel, The Diviners has been on my wishlist for a long time because I love Libba Bray's novels, so I really look forward to your opinion of it!

Thanks for sharing!

Gosh, this is such a fantastic haul! I can't wait to see what you two think of these great books! :D

Jasprit, I absolutely loved The Assassin's Curse! It was fantastic and I really hope you enjoy it!(: I've seen a lot of mixed reviews of Confessions of an Angry Girl, so I'm curious to see what you have to say about it. I'm so excited that you were able to get a copy of Night Beach! I've been meaning to read it for awhile now but Aussie books are so hard to find in the U.S.! I'm looking forward to your review of it though! ;)

Rachel, I'm so thrilled that you got a copy of Ashen Winter! I thought it was a remarkable sequel to Ashfall and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! I'm so jealous that you got a chance to go to ALA! I live on the other side of the U.S. and unfortunately there are no ALA's in New York! :/ I can't wait to see what you think of Carnival of Souls, The Diviners, Throne of Glass, and Stealing Parker! I loved Chasing Jordan so I'm really excited for the sequel! I also love Malissa Marr and Libba Bray, so I'm curious to read their new books.

Happy Reading! =D

What an awesome haul! I would love to read Throne of Glass and the novella. The Assassin's Curse started out average, but in the end I really enjoyed it! I'm looking forward to start Angry Girl myself, and have just started Ashen Winter - so far as good as Ashfall :-)
ALA sounds wonderful, wish there were something like that over here in the UK!
Happy reading,

Wow! You two have received some great books recently! The Assassin's Curse was a pretty good read, Jasprit. Though I should warn you not to read the Goodreads description before you get started as it pretty much gives everything away. :P Rachel, lucky you going to ALA! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on Carnival of Souls and Throne of Glass. Some of those ARCs are to die for! :D Enjoy all your new books, you two.
