The Distance Between Us The Distance Between Us
by Kasie West
Publication Date: July 2nd 2013
Publisher: Harper Teen
Seventeen-year-old Caymen Meyers studies the rich like her own personal science experiment, and after years of observation she’s pretty sure they’re only good for one thing—spending money on useless stuff, like the porcelain dolls in her mother’s shop.

So when Xander Spence walks into the store to pick up a doll for his grandmother, it only takes one glance for Caymen to figure out he’s oozing rich. Despite his charming ways and that he’s one of the first people who actually gets her, she’s smart enough to know his interest won’t last. Because if there’s one thing she’s learned from her mother’s warnings, it’s that the rich have a short attention span. But Xander keeps coming around, despite her best efforts to scare him off. And much to her dismay, she's beginning to enjoy his company.

She knows her mom can’t find out—she wouldn’t approve. She’d much rather Caymen hang out with the local rocker who hasn’t been raised by money. But just when Xander’s attention and loyalty are about to convince Caymen that being rich isn’t a character flaw, she finds out that money is a much bigger part of their relationship than she’d ever realized. And that Xander’s not the only one she should’ve been worried about.

I can't wait to pick this up! I loved Kasie West's paranormal story, Pivot Point  So I'm sure she'll amaze us with her venture into contemporary!  Sounds like a "vanilla queen's dream"!

So what are you waiting on?  Link us up, we'd love to know. :)

Shadowlands

Shadowlands by Kate Brian
Publication date: January 8th 2013
Publisher: Hyperion

Rory Miller had one chance to fight back and she took it. Rory survived… and the serial killer who attacked her escaped. Now that the infamous Steven Nell is on the loose, Rory must enter the witness protection with her father and sister, Darcy, leaving their friends and family without so much as a goodbye.

Starting over in a new town with only each other is unimaginable for Rory and Darcy. They were inseparable as children, but now they can barely stand each other. As the sisters settle in to Juniper Landing, a picturesque vacation island, it seems like their new home may be just the fresh start they need. They fall in with a group of beautiful, carefree teens and spend their days surfing, partying on the beach, and hiking into endless sunsets. But just as they’re starting to feel safe again, one of their new friends goes missing. Is it a coincidence? Or is the nightmare beginning all over again?

I LOVE mysteries and this one sounds brilliant!  The main character Rory already seems like a girl I can get behind and root for. She must be strong to fight off a serial killer and escape.  Add to that, there's complicated relationship between Rory and her sister. I really want to know what's behind that drama.  I don't really see anything mentioned about a romance, but a girl can hope.  Plus, I just love that cover, gorgeous!!  I'm dying to get my hands on this.

So what are you currently lusting after?  We'd love to know.  Link us up and we'll check it out.

Premeditated

Premeditated by Josin L. McQuein

Expected Publications date: October 2013
Publisher: Delacorte Books for Young Readers

A week ago, Dinah’s cousin Claire cut her wrists.

Five days ago, Dinah found Claire’s diary and discovered why.

Three days ago, Dinah stopped crying and came up with a plan.

Two days ago, she ditched her piercings and bleached the black dye from her hair.

Yesterday, knee socks and uniform plaid became a predator’s camouflage.

Today, she’ll find the boy who broke Claire.

By tomorrow, he’ll wish he were dead.
So this doesn't sound like your typical Rachel book does it?  I know! But it sounds so wicked and wonderful.  I want to know what this boy did to break Claire!  The only thing that's so horrible about this book is that it comes out in October of 2013!! Ahhh!!!! I have zero patience, so this is really a test for me because I have absolutely nothing else to read in the meantime.  Lol! Too funny, right?!

So what are you dying for this week?  Link us up, we'd love to know!

The book I'm most excited about this week is...

Falling
 Falling by Jolene Perry
 Publication date: November 17th 2012.
 Publisher: Next Door Publishing

Dana is definitely not the kind of girl to be living in the dump of a wilderness lodge she finds herself waitressing in. But when Craig, the sexy cop who’s handling the murder case where she’s a witness, suggests it—it seems like a good idea. Now she’s got no BMW, no shopping and an assortment of hairy Alaskan men who definitely belong in a run-down old lodge. Her exciting visits from Craig are getting less exciting, and the lodge owner, Jason, is quickly moving from grouchy and judgmental, to funny, smart and unexpectedly complex.

Jason knows exactly the type of girl Dana is—beautiful, spoiled, and high maintenance. She’s everything that hurt him in the past, and why he now lives as far away from city life as he can manage. If he wasn’t so hard-up for help, he would have never said yes to his friend, Craig. Despite his reservations, Dana becomes the perfect antidote to everything in his life—both his disaster of a divorce and precocious little sister who shows up on his doorstep. Jason realizes he’s falling for Dana too late to stop it, or even slow it down.

As the trial approaches, Dana knows it’s time to move on with her life—but is her life back in the city she left or with a guy she never meant to fall for?
I love romances where the characters find love in places they were not expecting, or in Jason's case where he avoids.  I can't wait to see Dana and Jason's love develop.  This description just sounds so amazing and I've been enjoying the New Adult genre so much.  I loved Jolene's writing in The Next Door Boys so I know this will not disappoint!

The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines, #3)
The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead
Publication Date: February 12th 2013
Publisher: Razorbill

In the aftermath of a forbidden moment that rocked Sydney to her core, she finds herself struggling to draw the line between her Alchemist teachings and what her heart is urging her to do. Then she meets alluring, rebellious Marcus Finch--a former Alchemist who escaped against all odds, and is now on the run. Marcus wants to teach Sydney the secrets he claims the Alchemists are hiding from her. But as he pushes her to rebel against the people who raised her, Sydney finds that breaking free is harder than she thought. There is an old and mysterious magic rooted deeply within her. And as she searches for an evil magic user targeting powerful young witches, she realizes that her only hope is to embrace her magical blood--or else she might be next.

Populated with new faces as well as familiar ones, the Bloodlines series explores all the friendship, romance, battles, and betrayals that made the #1 New York Times bestselling Vampire Academy series so addictive—this time in a part-vampire, part-human setting where the stakes are even higher and everyone’s out for blood.
Is this a shock to anyone that I'm dying for this?  Oh my heart, Sydrian!!  After that closing scene in The Golden Lily, I need to read this immediately, if not sooner!

What are you waiting for?  Link us up, we'd love to know.

Lovely, Dark and Deep
 Lovely, Dark and Deep
 by Amy McNamara
 Expected Publication Date:
 November 13th 2012
 Publisher: Simon and Schuster
 Children's Publishing

Goodreads Description: A resonant debut novel about retreating from the world after losing everything—and the connections that force you to rejoin it.  Since the night of the crash, Wren Wells has been running away. Though she lived through the accident that killed her boyfriend Patrick, the girl she used to be didn’t survive. Instead of heading off to college as planned, Wren retreats to her father’s studio in the far-north woods of Maine. Somewhere she can be alone.

Then she meets Cal Owen. Dealing with his own troubles, Cal’s hiding out too. When the chemistry between them threatens to pull Wren from her hard-won isolation, Wren has to choose: risk opening her broken heart to the world again, or join the ghosts who haunt her.

This sounds so intense and dark but with hope at the end of the tunnel.  I'm hoping for a swoony romance too!   Plus, the cover is gorgeous and seems to fit the description perfectly.  I can't wait for November!
