Waiting on Wednesday #31: Still Me by JoJo Moyes

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm eagerly waiting on...

Still Me (Me Before You #3) by JoJo moyes
Publisher: Penguin
Publication Date: January 25th 2017

Louisa Clark arrives in New York ready to start a new life, confident that she can embrace this new adventure and keep her relationship with Ambulance Sam alive across several thousand miles. She is thrown into the world of the superrich Gopniks: Leonard and his much younger second wife, Agnes, and a never-ending array of household staff and hangers-on. Lou is determined to get the most out of the experience and throws herself into her job and New York life within this privileged world. Before she knows what's happening, Lou is mixing in New York high society, where she meets Joshua Ryan, a man who brings with him a whisper of her past. In Still Me, as Lou tries to keep the two sides of her world together, she finds herself carrying secrets--not all her own--that cause a catastrophic change in her circumstances. And when matters come to a head, she has to ask herself Who is Louisa Clark? And how do you reconcile a heart that lives in two places?

Me Before You was one of my all time favourite reads, when I first heard that there was going to be a follow up book to Me Before You I was a little unsure, but I ended up loving the heck out of it. Also I can't wait to get more from Louisa! And Moyes hasn't failed me yet with her beautiful writing. I expect more tears will be shed with this latest instalment! Hurry up already 2018!

What are you waiting for this Wednesday?

Waiting on Wednesday: The Whole Thing Together by Ann Brashares

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm eagerly waiting on...

The Whole Thing Together by Ann Brashares
Publisher: Delacorte Press
Publication Date: April 25th 2017.

Summer for Sasha and Ray means the sprawling old house on Long Island. Since they were children, they’ve shared almost everything—reading the same books, running down the same sandy footpaths to the beach, eating peaches from the same market, laughing around the same sun-soaked dining table. Even sleeping in the same bed, on the very same worn cotton sheets. But they’ve never met. Sasha’s dad was once married to Ray’s mom, and together they had three daughters: Emma, the perfectionist; Mattie, the beauty; and Quinn, the favorite. But the marriage crumbled and the bitterness lingered. Now there are two new families—and neither one will give up the beach house that holds the memories, happy and sad, of summers past. The choices we make come back to haunt us; the effect on our destinies ripples out of our control…or does it? This summer, the lives of Sasha, Ray, and their siblings intersect in ways none of them ever dreamed, in a novel about family relationships, keeping secrets, and most of all, love.

The last book I read by Ann Brashares was My Name is Memory and it was a book I absolutely loved (I'm probably the only one amongst my friends that did), so I'm thoroughly excited to be getting a contemporary read from her. Also I'm a huge fan of Summer reads set away at Beach Houses, it makes me long to have my own, one that I can go to and hide away at over the Summer. I also do love my books that deal with family relationships well and with any hint of a romance I'm completely sold. I think The Whole Thing Together will have everything I love in a book and I will eagerly be anticipating its release! Also how pretty is that cover? The subtle, natural covers I always find myself gravitating towards.

Waiting on Wednesday: #29. With Malice by Eileen Cook

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I'm eagerly waiting on...

With Malice by Eileen Cook
Publisher: HMH Books for Young Readers
Publication Date: 7th June 2016

For fans of We Were Liars and The Girl on the Train comes a chilling, addictive, compulsive read about a teenage girl who wakes up in a hospital bed and cannot remember the last six weeks of her life, including the accident that killed her best friend--only what if the accident wasn't an accident? Eighteen-year-old Jill Charron wakes up in a hospital room, leg in a cast, stitches in her face and a big blank canvas where the last 6 weeks should be. She comes to discover she was involved in a fatal accident while on a school trip in Italy three days previous but was jetted home by her affluent father in order to receive quality care. Care that includes a lawyer. And a press team. Because maybe the accident...wasn't an accident. Wondering not just what happened but what she did, Jill tries to piece together the events of the past six weeks before she loses her thin hold on her once-perfect life.

I don't normally go for books which draw comparisons to other books and the fact that this book mentions We Were Liars and The Girl on the Train, two books which really didn't work out for me, you would think that I wouldn't find this book appealing at all, but this couldn't be more further than the truth. Eileen Cook won me over completely with her book Unravelling Isobel four years ago, it had the right amount of creepiness to keep me thoroughly entertained. Also I do love my books which deal with memory loss, more so when they're done well. and I have a feeling that this book will keeping me guessing until the very last page. I just wish the wait for this book didn't have to be so long!

So what are you waiting on this Wednesday? I've really missed out on adding to my tbr pile, so look forward to discovering new reads!

Waiting on Wednesday #28 Worth the Risk by Claudia Connor

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating.

The book I'm eagerly looking forward to is:

Worth the Risk (The McKinney Brothers #2) by Claudia Connor
Expected Publication Date: January 20th 2015
Publisher: Loveswept
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18136549-it-happened-one-wedding

About the book:

When a McKinney brother falls in love, powerful emotion and overwhelming desire are never far behind.

Two hearts locked away . . . Hannah Walker spends her days coaching children through injury and trauma, one therapeutic horseback ride at a time. She knows all too well how violence can change a child and leave scars that never heal. It’s easy for her to relate to the kids; what isn’t easy is the thought of facing her own harrowing past.

Millionaire playboy Stephen McKinney could use a little coaching himself. Five years ago he encountered his most horrible nightmare—and the nightmare won. No matter what he achieves, nothing can make up for that awful night . . . or so he believes.

Both desperate for a second chance . . . Stephen is used to getting what he wants. And he wants Hannah. So when she turns him down, he’s intrigued. What he doesn’t know is that her secrets will lead him to a place he never wanted to go again . . . to a side of himself he’s tried to forget . . . a side that would scare Hannah away from ever loving him. Now his only chance to win her trust is to bare his soul, risking everything he tried so hard to protect.

I LOVED Worth the Fall the first in this series (my review), so I can't wait to pick up the next which focuses on Stephen, the absentee, rich brother.  I'm hoping to get a glimpse of Matt, Abby and the kids, too! Plus, how can you resist that cover?!!  Where's my bottle of whip cream?

What are you dying for? Link me up and I'll come and check it out!

Waiting on Wednesday #27: Vision in Silver by Anne Bishop

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating.

The book I'm eagerly looking forward to is:
Vision in Silver (The Others #3) by Anne Bishop
Expected Publication Date: March 3rd 2015
Publisher: Roc
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18136549-it-happened-one-wedding

About the book:
The Others freed the  cassandra sangue  to protect the blood prophets from exploitation, not realizing their actions would have dire consequences. Now the fragile seers are in greater danger than ever before—both from their own weaknesses and from those who seek to control their divinations for wicked purposes. In desperate need of answers, Simon Wolfgard, a shape-shifter leader among the Others, has no choice but to enlist blood prophet Meg Corbyn’s help, regardless of the risks she faces by aiding him.

Meg is still deep in the throes of her addiction to the euphoria she feels when she cuts and speaks prophecy. She knows each slice of her blade tempts death. But Others and humans alike need answers, and her visions may be Simon’s only hope of ending the conflict.

For the shadows of war are deepening across the Atlantik, and the prejudice of a fanatic faction is threatening to bring the battle right to Meg and Simon’s doorstep…
I loved the first two books and I can't wait to continue the series.  I'm hoping Simon and Meg stop tip toeing around their feelings and dive right into romance in this installment! Pretty please, Anne Bishop!!

What are you waiting on?  Leave me a link and I'll come check it out.

Waiting on Wednesday #26: Better Homes and Hauntings by Molly Harper

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating.

The book I'm eagerly looking forward to is:

Better Homes and Hauntings by Molly Harper
Expected Publication Date: June 24th 2014
Publisher: Pocket Books

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/18136549-it-happened-one-wedding

Author of the beloved Half Moon Hollow series of vampire romances (Nice Girls Don’t Have Fangs), Molly Harper has created a standalone paranormal romance in which a dilapidated haunted house could bring star-crossed lovers together—if it doesn’t kill them first!

When Nina Linden is hired to landscape a private island off the New England coast, she sees it as her chance to rebuild her failing business after being cheated by her unscrupulous ex. She never expects that her new client, software mogul Deacon Whitney, would see more in her than just a talented gardener. Deacon has paid top dollar to the crews he’s hired to renovate the desolate Whitney estate—he had to, because the bumps, thumps, and unexplained sightings of ghostly figures in nineteenth-century dress are driving workers away faster than he can say “Boo.”

But Nina shows no signs of being scared away, even as she experiences some unnerving apparitions herself. And as the two of them work closely together to restore the mansion’s faded glory, Deacon realizes that he’s found someone who doesn’t seem to like his fortune more than himself—while Nina may have finally found the one man she can trust with her bruised and battered heart.

But something on the island doesn’t believe in true love…and if Nina and Deacon can’t figure out how to put these angry spirits to rest, their own love doesn’t stand a ghost of a chance.

I've had such fun with Molly Harper's brand of humor and sexy romances in her Naked Werewolf series so I'm looking forward to a fun, spooky romance! Plus, I love the idea of renovating a stately mansion with my rich love-to-be!

The book I'm most excited about this week is...

Out of Control by Sarah Alderson
Publisher: Simon & Schuster UK

When 17 year old Liva witnesses a brutal murder she’s taken into police custody for her own protection. But when the police station is attacked and bullets start flying it becomes clear that Liva is not just a witness, she’s a target.

Together with a car thief called Jay, Liva manages to escape the massacre but now the two of them are alone in New York, trying to outrun and outwit two killers who will stop at nothing to find them.

From the author of My Life Next Door comes a swoony summertime romance full of expectation and regret, humor and hard questions.

I loved Rachel Hawkins Demonglass series, so I’ve been eagerly anticipating this read for some time.  She has a clever sense of humor and I love the sound of a kick-ass Southern Belle!  Plus, it sounds like this romance is of the hate to love variety and it’s so much fun to watch those sparks fly! And just look at that cover! I want!!

Waiting on Wednesday #22: The Destiny of Violet & Luke (The Coincidence #3) by Jessica Sorensen

Is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating.

The book I'm eagerly looking forward to is:
The Destiny of Violet and Luke (The Coincidence, #3)
The Destiny of Violet & Luke (The Coincidence #3) by Jessica Sorensen
Expected Publication Date: January 7th 2014
Publisher: Forever

About the Book: Luke Price's life has always been about order, control, and acting tough on the outside. For Luke, meaningless relationships are a distraction-a way to tune out the twisted memories of his childhood. He desperately wishes he could forget his past, but it haunts him no matter what he does.

Violet Hayes has had a rough life. When she was young, she was left with no family and the memory of her parents' unsolved murders. She grew up in foster homes, living with irresponsible parents, drugs, and neglect, and trying to fight the painful memories of the night her parents were taken from her. But it's hard to forget when she never got closure-and she can't stop dreaming about what happened that tragic night. To make it through life, she keeps her distance from everyone and never allows herself to feel anything.

Then Violet meets Luke. The two clash instantly, yet they can't seem to stay away from each other. Although they fight it, they both start to open up and feel things they've never felt before. They discover just how similar they are. But they also discover something else: The past always catches up with you . . .

I really loved The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden so I'm anxious to find out more about Kayden's friend Luke and Callie's college roommate Violet.  Both seemed to have a lot going on under the surface that was only hinted at and I'm really wondering about their stories.  I'm nosy like that!  January 7th will be here before I know it so at least the wait won't be torture.

So what are you dying to read?  Link me up and I’ll come and check it out!

Waiting on Wednesday #21 Crash into You (Pushing the Limits #3) by Katie McGarry

Is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating.

The book I'm eagerly looking forward to is:
Crash into You (Pushing the Limits, #3)
Crash into You (Pushing the Limits #3) by Katie McGarry
Expected Publication Date: November 26th 2013
Publisher: Harlequin Teen

From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that's who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers...and she's just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can't get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they'll go to save each other.

I loved Pushing the Limits and Dare to You.  Katie McGarry’s writing and her swoony romances work for me, so I can’t wait to read Isaiah’s story!  From the teaser chapter at the end of Dare to You, it seems to be another love story between opposites!  Can’t wait and it looks like I don’t have to for too long. The expected publication date is November 26th!  Not too shabby!

So what are you waiting for anxiously?  Link me up and I’ll come and check it out!
