Waiting on Wednesday #8

Is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases were eagerly anticipating.

The book I'm most excited about this week is...

Falling For You
 Falling For You
 by Lisa Schroeder
 Expected Publication Date:
 January 1st 2013

Goodreads Description: Rae's always dreamed of dating a guy like Nathan. He’s nothing like her abusive stepfather—in other words, he’s sweet. But the closer they get, the more Nathan wants of her time, of her love, of her...and the less she wants to give.

As Rae’s affection for Nathan turns to fear, she leans on her friend Leo for support. With Leo, she feels lighter, happier. And possessive Nathan becomes jealous.

Then a tragedy lands Rae in the ICU. Now, hovering between life and death, Rae must find the light amid the darkness…and the strength to fight for life and the love she deserves.

I loved the verse novel Chasing Brooklyn by Lisa Schroeder.  It was such a powerful and haunting read!  I know Jasprit loved her verse novel The Day Before.  So when I heard she had something new coming out, I was thrilled.  I was surprised to find out that this will NOT be a verse novel!  Ms. Schroeder tells us that it still will be an unconventional novel.  Most of it will be told in flashbacks and for those of us who are sad about the format, she promises some poetry is worked into the story.  For those of you wondering: Why not in verse?  She answers the question in on her blog here.

So, what are you waiting on?  Link us up below, we'd love to know!

I haven't read anything by Lisa Schroeder yet, but I have a copy of one of her books at home ( I can't remember the name )
This one sounds very interesting. I'm interested in reading the book just to find out about the poetry.
Great pick, Rachel. :)

Oooh this sounds super creepy and nice. ;) It actually reminds me of Dreamland, by Sarah Dessen... one of my favorite books of 2011. Love this choice, Rachel!! Seriously!! There are so many Paranormal picks and all, but none that sound like this one. Great choice, as usual!!! XD

I feel I should probably give some of her verse books a try before wanting to read this too! I remember you and Laura persuaded me to get myself a copy of Chasing Brooklyn, which I still haven't read! Hopefully I'll get around to it eventually. ;) Great pick this week, Rachel! It's got a lovely steamy cover too. ;)

That's interesting that this one isn't in verse! I'll be checking out that blog post that you linked for us, Rachel. I haven't read any of the other of the book's the author has written, but I have heard good things! And this one sounds like a really fantastic and emotional read about abuse, which is such an important topic.

Fabulous pick Rachel! <3

Ooooo great pick Rachel! I haven't read anything by Lisa (fail), so I'm definitely going to need to pick this one up. Abuse stories are always hard for me to read, but I'm always glued to the pages hoping for the best when I pick them up, and I love that:)

Yay, I'm looking forward to this too! I don't think I've read anything else by the author, so I don't know what I'm missing in terms of a verse novel. ;) I do, however, love the idea of an unconventional level. Brilliant pick, Rachel! :)

Ahh! I was just chatting with Lisa a couple of weeks ago about this one. She is a local author and very nice. I am going to have her on my blog in September and then hopefully back for this one as well!

Gosh, I can be slow sometimes! I first saw the title and the name Lisa Schroeder and I couldn't for the life of me remember where I know it from, and then I read 'Chasing Brooklyn' and I was like, aaaaaaaaahhhhhh, that's where! Slow, I tell you. I blame prolonged exposure to the sun. :D
Anyway, it sounds very interesting, I'm looking forward to it.

I've never read any of Lisa Schroeder's novels before, but this book looks like a great place to start because I'm not the biggest fan of verse novels. Thank you for sharing Rachel! Happy reading. :)
