Down, Boy
Anna Moder has just witnessed a shooting, seen her car pulverized, and rescued a wounded stranger only to discover he's really a werewolf. And by her recent standards, things are actually looking up. Lycanthropes don't faze Anna. Doctoring a wolf pack outside Grundy, Alaska, is the closest thing to home life she's known in years. But hitching a ride to Anchorage with long-absent pack member Caleb Graham that's a risk. Part of her itches to whack his nose with a newspaper. The rest is trying unsuccessfully to keep her own paws off every delicious inch of him.
The problem is, Caleb employs his lupine tracking abilities as a notquite-legal bounty hunter, and Anna is suspicious of both him and his profession. On the run from her past, with old problems closing in, she'd like to stay far, far away from anybody with connections to the law. Caleb, however, seems determined to keep her close. Are his intentions noble, or is he working a more predatory angle?
Anna's been dreaming of returning to a semi-normal life, but now she's experiencing a strange new urge . . . to join Caleb in running with the wolves.

My Thoughts:
How to Run With a Naked Werewolf was moving romance filled with fun humor, and a little scary suspense thrown in.

Anna Moder is on the run from an abusive husband. She spent a few years in Grundy, Alaska as the wolf pack’s doctor.  They needed a physician willing to “doctor” records so no one would find out their secrets and Anna needed a place to stay in anonymity. She spent a few years in relative peace until she got an email saying her husband was on to her, again.  Anna’s moved on spending a few months here and there working random jobs that don’t require ID, and she is making her way to Anchorage to set up a more permanent, and hopefully, untraceable identity.  That is until she gets caught up in a shooting and ends up with Caleb Graham sticking to her like glue. How is it possible that Anna of all people ends up with Caleb, the bounty hunter cousin to the wolf pack she left in Grundy?

After Anna saves Caleb in the shooting, he won’t let her out of his sight, and he promises to take Anna to Anchorage.  But she’s suspicious of Caleb and petrified that somehow he’ll find out who she is and turn her into her husband. Still, Anna has no better options unless she plans on hitchhiking with questionable people all the way over. At least she knows Caleb by reputation from his family, the pack.

There’s a building attraction and Anna can’t help but fall for Caleb a little more each day she spends with him. The easy affection and the way he cares for without even a thought is so comforting and nothing like her oppressive husband.  She’s able to be herself without repercussions, and Caleb likes her more for it.  But Anna’s afraid to let her guards down, afraid to let anyone in for fear they become victims, too; which is the whole reason she left Grundy, the pack and her little slice of happiness.

I felt so horrible for Anna, she fell for someone who was deceptively nice and who gradually took over her life until he dominated every aspect, and even that wasn’t enough for that evil man! Unfortunately, her husband is one smart SOB so staying under the radar is very difficult.  Although, Anna isn’t the person she used to be, not the type to just sit there and take it lying down.   And now she has Caleb at her back, the big scary werewolf, with the soft-center heart.

I loved this installment just as much as the first one, maybe a little more.  I dare anyone not to fall head-over-heels for Caleb with his unfailing loyalty and sure protection.

If you want a sexy romance that’ll make you laugh with a side of scary, serious parts, the Naked Werewolf series is written just for you. I look forward to picking up Molly Hartper’s other work soon.

For some reason I just couldn't get into this installment. Seeing as you enjoyed it so much, though, I'll definitely have to re-visit it soon and give it another try. Wonderful review, Rachel! :)

The snarky humor really gets my attention, just like the title that I smirk at when I see it,.

Ooh, yeah. Poor Anna! It's one thing to be an alpha but quite another to be a controlling arse. And poor Anna, running around Alaska with no pants! Seriously, where are those girl's pants?!?

Rachel said...

Seriously, right? I wonder where her pants are as well, lol, Mary! Your comments always have me cracking up. :)

I liked this one too, but book one is still my fav because I love town. I did love the relationship between Anna and Caleb even if Anna frustrated me a bit. I hope that there will be another installment.

HAHAHAHA that title just cracks me up. But wow, I already feel for Anna! Abusive, controlling partners make me enraged. At least she developed a backbone and found Caleb. I'll have to read this one because it does sound good (love your review;), but I may still giggle at the title :)

I have seen this one around and it sounds like a great sequel. I haven't read anything with werewolves recently so I might. Also Caleb sounds like someone I need to meet. Great review, Rachel :)

I read the first book in this series and LOVED it! I don't have it in me to continue though .-. I'd miss Mo and Cooper too much .-.

I find it amazing that this book has so much depth to it, simply because from the title, I wouldn't expect it to! It sound like a fun, delightful and enduring story though, and I've added it to my list now. Lovely review, Rachel!

I think we're in sync with this whole series, Rachel--I still think book one is the cutest, but this one's definitely better than book 2! But they're all fun, really. Like you, I'm going to pick up her other series soon, too. :) More humorous PNR/UF, please! I love them.

I read the first in this series and really liked it, but I haven't picked up the next books. It definitely peaks my interest that you enjoyed this as much - or more than the first one. I think I need to get back into this world again and hang out with Caleb and Anna.

I remember how much you enjoyed the first novel of this series, so I'm not surprised to see you enjoyed this one as well. Haha! Its been a very long time since I've read a good werewolf book, and this series seem like I should give it a ago ASAP. I can't wait to meet Anna and Caleb. And I just love stories where the big, hottie werewolf is protective of the girl cause she's hiding from an a**hole husband (Can you tell I'm a romantic?? lol ;p). Plus, its got humor! I can't wait to start this. I'm so happy you enjoyed this, Rachel! Fabulous review! :D
