The wicked sisters sound creepy but I want to meet them. I have heard so many things about Calder I think it is time I met him. I like the idea of meremaids being evil, and I've never actually read a book dealing with mermaids in general, so this one sounds like a fun place to start. I'm absolutely ecstatic to read this book now! It sounds like such WOW material! <3 The pretty cover helps a lot to convince me to read it too! I don't usually read mermaid lore, so I'm very curious to read this book! :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10224746396123025992noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1019785638850450889.post-91551477388509953772012-06-06T21:43:02.887+01:002012-06-06T21:43:02.887+01:00I absolutely ADORE your review for this book, Rach...I absolutely ADORE your review for this book, Rachel! I'm always looking for a cool mermaid book since there aren't very many out there, and even though this isn't the perfect book, it sounds like a definitely worthy read! The whole murderer-protagonist-fighting-his-nature thing should be a type of character -- I would love to get more of it because it sounds so intriguing!

Wonderful review, Rachel! Yay for awesome male protagonists! ;) <3Mimi Valentinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04241457025232914551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1019785638850450889.post-33748780194133030652012-06-06T19:27:46.728+01:002012-06-06T19:27:46.728+01:00I admit to skimming through your review as I'm...I admit to skimming through your review as I'm in the middle of reading Lies Beneath myself and you know :] I love it so far because it defies the Disneyised mermaid version as well and I LOVE the way the romance develops. It's realistic and Lily reacts appropriately and does not condone his tendency to be creepy at times. And his sisters- so SCARY. Looking forward to reading more and finding out how it's all wrapped up. Glad you felt the same way about so many things, Rachel xDPooja. Mermaids tend not to sit to well with me either, but I'm looking forward to starting this book after all the great reviews. Like I mentioned on GR, Calder sounds like a great character. I'm eager to meet him soon. :) Great review!Sam (Realm of Fiction)https://www.blogger.com/profile/04440380021875536125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1019785638850450889.post-18185487982267558172012-06-06T15:34:40.814+01:002012-06-06T15:34:40.814+01:00I had pretty much the same reactions to this book ...I had pretty much the same reactions to this book as you did. I,too, tend to stay away from books involving mermaids since there's a lot of negativity surrounding them.
I think I'm going to check this one out when it releases because I honestly like the idea that the merpeople are actually evil and are killers.
Calder's sisters seem very creepy and I can't wait to find out more about them.
It's also a great thing that Lily didn't fall to Calder's feet. I hate when female characters do that.
Thanks for the lovely review, Rachel.
