Waiting on Wednesday #5

Is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases were eagerly anticipating.

The book I'm most excited about this week is...

Meant To Be by Lauren Morrill

  Publication Date: November 13th 2012

Blurb from Goodreads
Meant to be or not meant to be . . . that is the question.

It's one thing to fall head over heels into a puddle of hazelnut coffee, and quite another to fall for the—gasp—wrong guy. Straight-A junior Julia may be accident prone, but she's queen of following rules and being prepared. That's why she keeps a pencil sharpener in her purse and a pocket Shakespeare in her, well, pocket. And that's also why she's chosen Mark Bixford, her childhood crush, as her MTB ("meant to be").

But this spring break, Julia's rules are about to get defenestrated (SAT word: to be thrown from a window) when she's partnered with her personal nemesis, class-clown Jason, on a school trip to London. After one wild party, Julia starts receiving romantic texts . . . from an unknown number! Jason promises to help discover the identity of her mysterious new suitor if she agrees to break a few rules along the way. And thus begins a wild goose chase through London, leading Julia closer and closer to the biggest surprise of all: true love.

Because sometimes the things you least expect are the most meant to be.

My thoughts
Aww this book sounds like such a cute book. As you probably already know there's nothing I love more than my contemporary romances and this sounds just like my sort of book. Potential romance with mysterious admirer? Check. Forced together with nemesis? (I adore love/hate relationships between two main characters) Check. And a wild goose chase around London? It cannot get any better than that! Also take a look at that cover, it's so pretty!

For all you readers from the U.S you can request a copy of this book from NetGalley or Edelweiss. For the rest of us, we will just have to wait until November *cries*

I'd love to hear your thoughts on my pick for the week and what you're waiting on.

  1. I am crying too! Request denied for being outside the USA :(

I love the cover so it's probably better to wait and buy a proper copy!

  2. Oh Jasprit! I love the sound of this one. Thrown together with your nemesis or putting opposites together are one of my favorite types of romance! Nevermore was like that, goth and popular cheerleader. Great pick! :) *runs off to Netgalley to beg*

  3. Ohh, I could spend hours staring at that cover! I think I'll let my wonderful vanilla queens (by which I mean you and Rachel) read it first, and then, if you like it, I'll get a copy too.
    Great pick, Jasprit! So pretty.

  11. Honestly, I was gutted when I realized I couldn't get it from NG just because I'm not in the US! I've gotten loads of books from them in the past so I'm sad that it has changed. :(

I can't wait for this book either! I'm loving contemporary books this year.

  12. YES JASPRIT! This one looks completely adorable and I must have it! Stupid November is entirely too far away, so I guess I'll just have to tackle the 239582090982304928 books on my TBR list to make the time go by faster:) Awesome choice!

  13. It is CUTE! Just like you said :) I didn't think it was all that special though, at least to me. I've seen other people raving over it though :) I still need to write up a review for that, thanks for the reminder :) haha.

  14. I was just thinking I had seen this before and then I remembered I saw it on NG. Don't hate me, but I am going to request it :) Happy Wednesday, Jasprit!

  15. We do already know that you have a weakness for contemporaries, AND WE COMPLETELY LOVE YOU FOR IT! :) <3 This is one of my most anticipated contemps of the year too! I just love the cover for it (such gorgeous colours!), and as a girl who loves English accents & English boys & beautiful old buildings, any book set in London gives it an extra must-read boost from me! ;)

Amazing pick for your WOW this week, J! Fingers crossed that it's amazing! <3

  17. SUPER AMAZING pick, Jasprit! Oh my gosh, I've been wanting this book ever since I saw the amazing cover, and the blurb of this book just taunts me even more! I'm a sucker for sweet, fun contemporary and I'm glad to find another team member here! x) *waves to Jasprit*

I'm still grieving over the fact that Random House only accepts blogger requests from USA now. They have amazing YA books that I'd love to get my hands on! :'( Well, I just learn how to wait then...
