A Kid's Perspective: Judging a book by it's cover #2

A Kid's Perspective: Judging a Book By Its Cover is a feature hosted by Sara @ Forever 17 Books
where Sara gets her six year old son Shawn's perspective on a few Young Adult covers.

It's been a while since I last did this post, my sister has been super busy, but did find some time in her busy schedule, to give me her intepretation and perspective of another brilliant Young Adult cover.
This time my sister chose Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi.

I think Unravel Me is about a girl and she's with her boyfriend, but what happens is that there's a big blizzard. And she loses him and she goes to look for him in the cold, snowy weather and when she finds him, he's with another girl and she gets heart broken and starts to cry.

I totally overlooked the crying like tears coming from the eye, until my sister gave me her totally reasonable explanation behind it all. My sister also seems to be gravitating towards a lot of relationship issues in her explanations, I can't wait to see which cover she decides to go for next!

  6. Oh wow that's a really good interpretation! LOL maybe if the book was about what she thought I would read the series! This one never interested me. Awesome feature!

  9. I completely missed the frozen tears too! That's a plausible explanation that your sister gives. I like her romantic stance on it too. :)

  10. LOVE IT JASPRIT! And her explanation totally makes sense based on the cover. In fact, her explanation is a story I'd like to read, you should see if she'd be interested in making that happen!

  11. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I heard it's basically the vice versa and the girl gets hots for a different guy, hence I'm not going to read it until the last one is out and I know the outcome so I probably won't read them ever. If you know.. the one that I don't particularly like ends up getting the girl. Anyhow, love this meme!!

  12. This is great! It's always interesting to see what kids think of things. That's cool she thought of ice tears for the cover. :)

  13. That's so sweet. But she has a very sad perspective of this book lol. I hadn't noticed the tears myself either :)

  14. I just love this cover so much, and she did a VERY good job! I know I said last time I'd ask my kid to do the same kid, but in my own defence, she's a bit hyper and doesn't stay still for very long. Drawing is a bit of a challenge. But I'll try to talk her into it, this is a fabulous idea.

  15. I always love this meme. My friend Jen does it with her daughter. I keep meaning to get my daughter to do it but I don't know if she would be thrilled. She is four and coloring and drawing are hit or miss sometimes. Your sister did a great job on this one. How old is she?

  18. This is SO cute!! I may have to jump on the bandwagon and have one of my younger siblings do this, haha. It's interesting how she caught on about the relationship theme present in YA! But I'm pretty sure I can't draw that well, to be honest. =P My drawing skills flat out suck!

Lovely post, Jasprit, and I can't wait to see more!!

  20. hahahah so cute! I never got the point behind this cover. While it's gorgeous, I don't think it portrays the book well at all, and this description proves my point LOL

Honestly, I think that's the perfect explanation for the cover of Unravel Me for someone who hasn't read the book/doesn't know what the series is about! Can't wait for you sister's next cover interpretation<3
