Showcase Sunday #50

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. The aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

Hi everyone, I hope you've had a brilliant couple of weeks. Things have been hectic the last couple of weeks, but also a lot of fun, I was able to attend the Divergent premier, you can read my recap here. I actually really enjoyed this film, and went to see it again with my sister (who has become a huge Theo fan overnight!) and I was also quoted for the the first time, in The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas! And I also went on a bit of a splurge too, the cover to Plus One was just too gorgeous to resist, look how pretty it looks with all my purple books! And the bookseller in my store convinced me to give Every Day a go.

Thank you to William Morrow and Orchard Books

Over to Rachel and her haul.

Thanks to Disney-Hyperion and Netgalley!

I bought Addicted to You after it tied with Shadows in our readers choice poll. I’m going to read that instead of Shadows because I’d rather wait until the last book is released before picking up Shadows. Both books are highly praised, but Addicted to You seems more my preference for now.

If you posted a book haul this week, feel free to leave us a link in the comments!

  1. I'm curious about that new Shirvington book. I didn't have very much lucy with her angel books, so I want to see if this one will make up for it somehow.

Looking forward to your thoughts on these books, ladies. :)

  4. Lols! There will be four books in the Rephaim series so you're going to have to wait a little longer, Rachel :D Anyhooooow, *crosses fingers tightly* I hope you enjoy Addicted to You since Nick and I just can't stop talking about it and I'd feel really bad for pushing a book on people which they don't enjoy, BUT if you don't like it, then just blame us :D As for Jasprit :D THEOOOOOO!!!! *stares* that is a sight onee cannot help but love and gah, his real accent? *melts* So happy that you got quoted in Assassin's Blade and whoop! Plus One is so gorgeous, I hope you enjoy the story :) And if you want to buddyread Every Day, let me know! I may not be able to read a lot (or basically at all) since it's my final 2 semesters at uni and I'll finally get my BA degree, yay. So yeah :D Most of my reading will have to wait until summer :D Great haul, ladies! x

  13. Jasprit, I'm really curious to see what you think of Every Day - I still don't know whether or not to pick that one up myself - and Plus One which I really enjoyed. I haven't actually heard a lot about the other titles you received, so I'm hoping they're excellent and wind up making their way into my TBR. ;) Rachel, I actually haven't heard of ANY of your books this week, so I'm definitely intrigued to see what your thoughts are. Wonderful haul, ladies, and happy reading! :D

  24. Ah, I'm curious what you'll think of PLUS ONE, Jasprit--I liked it, but didn't quite love it the way a lot of readers have. And Rachel! I was surprised by how much I like the Ritchie sisters' first book, so I have to get the sequel soon. I hope you enjoy it! Happy reading, ladies!

  25. Wow, Plus One looks gorgeous! *.* I think it's one of the best covers I've seen so far this year. And so glad you enjoyed the film - I still need to go and watch it. (I'll probably re-read the book first, though)
