Waiting on Wednesday #4

Is a meme hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, which spotlights upcoming releases were eagerly anticipating.

The book I'm most excited about this week is...

Title: First Comes Love
Author: Katie Kacvinsky
Publisher: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
Publication date: 8th May

Add to Goodreads

Blurb from Goodreads.
Like his name, Gray is dark and stormy. Dylan, a girl always searching for what's next, seemingly unable to settle down, is the exact opposite: full of light and life. On the outside, they seem like an unlikely couple. But looks can be deceiving and besides, opposites attract.

What starts as friendship, turns into admiration, respect and caring, until finally these two lone souls find they are truly in love with each other.

But staying in love is not as easy as falling in love. If Dylan and Gray want their love to last, they're going to have to work at it. And learn that sometimes love means having to say you're sorry.

My thoughts.
This book hadn’t even hit my radar until a few weeks ago, but by following so many people’s updates I think I’ve fallen in love. There’s nothing more I enjoy more than curling up with a good contemporary romance, especially ones about two individuals who are complete opposites falling for one another. So this book sounds right up my alley.

And that last line “saying you’re sorry…” sorry about what? I hate it when books keep you hanging! I need to know!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on my pick for the week and what you’re waiting on.

  5. This looks really interesting. Sometimes I like to get away from all the paranormal and fantasy stuff I read for something like this. I will have to check this out.

  8. I didn't know this one before I think, but the cover looks interesting. So.. minimalistic. It's just their faces and they look so.. clean, you know? I like that a lot!

And the blurb sounds so good. Especially the part about how they admire and respect eachother. Oh, I want this novel now!

  16. It sounds like an interesting book. I've added it on my goodreads under 'maybe reading', because I'm still not sture about it. I think I'm going to look for some reviews before I make up my mind :)

  21. A few, or several, can't remember, months ago, Kacvinsky TOTALLY blew my mind with Awaken, so, naturally, I AM OVER THE MOON about First Comes Love. Sure, it'll be different reading a contemporary, and I'm not sure how I feel about the I'm Almost There Don't Move kiss cover, BUT IT CAN'T NOT be good. I won't believe it. You are awesome. ;)

  22. Hehe, I know you love contemporary books, J! <3 x) But I've actually hardly heard much about this one too, and that surprises me considering how intensely sweet this book sounds and how much a lot of my friends love Katie's other books! And this line: "What starts as friendship, turns into admiration, respect and caring, until finally these two lone souls find they are truly in love with each other." I think my heart jumped in my throat when I read that -- the romance sounds so beautiful! :')

AMAZING pick for your WOW this week, J! We really need to know what the sorry is for!! ;) <3

  25. Jasprit, my fellow vanilla-queen, you know, of course, that I'm looking forward to this one too. That cover is to die for!! That last sentence has me a bit nervous. Hope this is real angsty! Great pick. :)

  26. Aaah the last line of the blurb breaks my heart!! I really want to know how their love story will end. I'll make sure that I have kleenex beside me when I read this book! I can't believe that I haven't heard about this book until you post it here! x)

Amazing pick this week, Jasprit! ♥
