Top Ten Tuesday #15: Top Ten New to me Authors I read in 2013.

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish where each week they post a new top ten list and ask fellow bloggers to share their lists on that topic.

This weeks Top Ten Tuesday topic is: Top Ten New to me Authors I read in 2013.

Once again I had a hard time just sticking with ten authors, so I've listed my top eleven. Firstly I'm going to start off with some brilliant debut books that I read this year.

These debut books I had a lot of fun reading, with the majority of them they were read in one sitting type of books, because they just has so much going on, that I couldn't do anything until I'd devoured every last page. I'm glad that I get the chance to spend more time with fantastic characters with follow up books planned for The Bone Season and All Our Yesterdays, both books will be on my highly anticipated list for next year, with all three authors leaving the best impressions with me. And with the amount I loved Parallel and The Lost Girl I know I will be reading anything these great authors write.

Graceling by Kristin Cashore.

I am finally glad that I was able to give authors such as Kristin Cashore, Sarah Fine and Jessi Kirby a try, I had heard some amazing things about these authors, and they honestly blew me away with their majestic worlds and realistic stories they had created. I am extremely looking forward to reading more of their books next year. If He Had Been with Me was one of my favourite reads of this year, it was a story which left me with puffy eyes, but was a story which was really beautifully written, the same could be said of You Look Different in Real Life.

2013 has been an incredible year of new authors for me, I know that I will have many gorgeous books to look forward to next year from the above authors. Which new authors made it to your list?

I know I totally fangirled out over your Fire/Bitterblue part of last week's TTT, so I will save us both a lot of time by summing everything up as: Elizabeth is off in lala land fangirling over your newfound love Kristin Cashore (I will make this as fluffy as I want to damn it!)

I also really enjoyed Golden, so at least I'm a well-rounded fangirl!

Cristin Terrill made my list too! I have seen her on so many lists, she will definitely go far with that debut!

I've only read THE 5TH WAVE, which I really liked. I still need to read some of these, like Kirby and Cashore's books. Nice list!

If He Had Been With Me!!! I totally meant to read that this year and forgot :( Maybe I'll get to it next year. Also Golden and You Look Different in Real Life. I need to read those! Cool list!

Makes me happy to see Rick Yancey on so many lists! I hope that more people are going to check out his Monstrumologist series now. It deserves way more attention!

I'm currently reading Fire by Cashore and love it. I wish I uni wouldn't take up so much time right now and I could just sit down and finish it.

I'm so glad you discovered Kristin Cashore, Amy Spalding, and Sarah Fine this year as they are some of my faves! Also: I loved Samantha Shannon's debut and cannot wait for more! Wonderful list, Jasprit!(:

We really did "meet" a lot of the same authors Jasprit. Cashore was the first author I discovered in 2013 and it has been great ever since. She started the year off right I think. Amy Spalding and Jennifer Jennifer Castle are on my 2014 list for sure.

Thanks for stopping by. And definitely read Pivot Point and The Program soon. They were amazing and the second books will be out next year.

Ironic that I have not read most of these, but have many of these! (Golden, Graceling, The Bone Season, All Our Yesterdays, The 5th Wave- but Mr. Betty read it!!) That is really exciting though because that means I have a bunch of treasure sitting on my shelves that I haven't even discovered yet! Love that feeling!

Graceling and Lost GIRL <3 . I think Tahereh Mafi would top my list.

Cristin Terrill and Lauren Miller are definitely authors I will be adding books to my TBR for! Rick Yancey too! So many of the others you mentioned I still need to discover but I look forward to it!

I read a bunch of new-to-me authors this year, too! Rick Yancy -- he was great. And Samantha Shannon -- I'm looking forward to the rest of her series. And a whole bunch more that I can't think of off the top of my head.

Love that you put the auos photo up too!

RICK YANCEY, yesssss...he made my list as well! And I really, really need to read some Amy Spalding this year--maybe Santa will bring me one of her books (or both!) Jessi Kirbi is a great pick and I just picked up Sanctum at the Kindle store! Nice list, Jasprit:)

I agree, 2013 does seem to be a great year of new authors for you! I'm dying to read Spalding's books so I hope to asap. The Bone Season is also a must for me to get to because I've heard incredible things as well as All Our Yesterdays. Your list shows me how much I'm lacking in the reading department recently!

Also, to your comment on my post (which I'll probably tweet you or something;) - Reading the next two Graceling books together would be AWESOME. I'm up for it. But I'm not sure when I'd be able to (maybe after the read-a-thon, maybe after the holidays) so I don't want to hold you up. Although if you say you're starting it, I'll probably drop everything to do so as well :)

I love your list, Jasprit!

Oooo you have some of my favorite reads of the year up there Jasprit! I fell madly in love with Cristin Terrill, Sarah Fine and Samantha Shannon this year as well. All of their books just blew me away and they are all now auto-buy authors for me! I still need to read Graceling. *sigh* I will get to it one day Jasprit, and then I will know what all the amazing fuss is about!

I fail in life, obviously, because I haven't read a single one of these. I so want to read the copy you got me for my birthday of The 5th Wave:) It's so prettyyhhhhh *pets it* BUT, I'm pretty sure that if I love it, I don't want to wait forever to get the second one which has a gorgeous name I don't remember right now. Anyhow, I'm going to read Golden pretty soon and I already own Sanctum and Fractured thanks to you :D Plus, All Our Yesterdays, Parallel, The Lost Girl and The Bone Season are ALLLLL on my tbr. Girl, your taste is fine!!! ;) I hope you had a great day. My fever went down today and I'm feeling loads of better. Plus, there're two rest days and a lab and an exam on Friday and then? WINTER BREAKKKKK!!!!!!! Can't wait:) I hope you start to feel holidayish soon:) x

I loved some of these so much too, but The Bone Season is my favorite of the year. And listening to it on audio turned out to be so much better than I'd hoped. It was just perfect.
