#FitReaders & General Update 6-17-16

Hello everyone. Jasprit and I have been trying to get healthier and more active lately so here is our #FitReaders update as well as what we've been reading and up to this last week.

Rachel
What I've been reading:
(click on cover for Goodreads link)

Paradise Valley (A Virgin River Novel) Just This Once (Escape to New Zealand, #1) Turn Me Loose (Paradise, Idaho, #3)

As most of you know, I've been addicted to Robyn Carr's Virgin River series and I've just finished #7 and loved it! I listen to the audio version of this and Thérèse Plummer is an amazing narrator! Highly recommended! Eva at All Books Considered turned me onto Rosalind James with this sale and I've been gobbling up her books for the last few weeks. Her writing is HOT and wonderful! She writes both contemporary romance and romantic suspense. I'm currently listening to Just This Once book one in her Escape to New Zealand series. It's super cheap to add the audio narration once you buy the book ($1.99 + $0.99 for the e-book on Amazon) Claire Bocking (the narrator) is making me want my very own hunky New Zealander with that sexy accent!

What I've been reading:

Unfortunately there's no links for me this week as I didn't get to read any books, I got straight back into work after my family weddings and it's been two long work weeks! I'm hopefully planning to finally get some sort of reading list planned over the weekend.

What we've been up to:

Rachel:
Not much, thank goodness! Just working and relaxing by the pool on the weekends. That's what I have planned for this weekend, maybe with some sort of frosty mango drink in hand! It looks to be a very hot weekend here in Southern California.

Jasprit:

Rachel's week sounds fantastic! It hasn't been all that hot over here in the U.K, this week has been full of rain and thunderstorms, weirdly I love this sort of weather especially when I'm indoors with a good book! Other than that I've been watching the Euro's and backing my team Germany all the way!

#FitReaders is hosted by Jen @That's What I'm Talking About and Felicia @TheGeekyBlogger.

Here's our progress for this last week:

Rachel:
My knee pain was still giving me trouble earlier this week, but today and yesterday it finally seems like it's getting better. I think the exercises, joint supplement, and stretching are paying off.  I actually jogged a little today instead of just walking like I've been doing.

Friday:  13,899 steps
Saturday:  11,495 steps
Sunday:  11,045 steps
Monday:  16,412 steps
Tuesday:   16,268 steps
Wednesday: 13,305 steps
Thursday: 14,884 steps
Total steps: 97,308 steps

Jasprit:
I hit my step goal every day this week in the workweek hustle, which I'm super proud of. And I'm planning to go back to the gym this week after four weeks off! *fingers crossed*

Friday: 17,105 steps
Saturday: 9,295 steps
Sunday: 4,483 steps
Monday: 14,378 steps
Tuesday: 12,849 steps
Wednesday: 13,657 steps
Thursday: 12,333 steps
Total steps: 84,100 steps

I really like Carr's Thunder Point series, and I think Therese Plummer is the absolute best, which means I'll be starting Virgin River as soon as possible. :) I admire you girls for keeping in shape. I just can't find the time these days. I suppose that's just an excuse, but there it is. :)

You guys are killing it on the Fitbit front. Props.

Don't fret, Jaz. We all have those uninspired days of not reading. I hope you'll get your reading mojo back. <3

Oh, I need to check out that series by Robyn Carr, Rachel. I've been meaning to read her books for a while now and that sounds like something I would enjoy.

Have a great week, ladies. And happy reading!

YAY RACHEL! SO happy you are enjoying Escape to NZ -- I love the first six books so much especially 1, 3 and 5!! I need to try the other series you mentioned because I know you love it!

Jasprit, fingers crossed on the reading front!

I'm so impressed that you both are keeping up on the fitness goals, week after week! Rachel, Southern California sounds lovely and I've got to get my hands on all those romance titles you've been reading. They sound fabulous and they're just the type of read I want in this weather. Jasprit, I adore the rain as well when I'm curled up inside with a good book so I can't wait to hear about the books you'll be picking up now that you've got more time to read! Great post, ladies--you're both such an inspiration!

Rachel: I loved the Virgin River series, too! I also enjoyed her Thunder Point series that she wrote after the Virgin River series. Great job with your steps this week and glad to hear your knees are doing ok...I have bad knees which is why I'm a walker and not a runner ;)

Jasprit: I hope things calm down enough that you can enjoy some down time soon and some good books! You also had a great week and I hope you did make it to the gym!

Have a great week ladies!!!

Wow, you both did really well with steps! I finally got a Fit Bit (courtesy of a friend for my birthday which was super sweet of her!) I just need to set it up and get moving. I'm having some feet problems though, so hopefully my doctor visit Tuesday will provide some results/help so that walking a lot won't kill me every time. Right now I'm trying to enjoy my pool and read as much as possible.

Rachel, I've not heard of any of the books you've been reading! Which is honestly surprising to me - I am apparently under quite the rock. Jasprit, weddings sound fun, and those are legit reasons not to be reading.

Y'all are slaying the stepping! Seriously, I don't know too much about daily step count, but 13k and 17k seem like a lot. Well done, both of you! =)

I feel your pain Jasprit! I haven't had much time these past few months to read either, and I've fallen so far behind on my review pile. Oh well. Hopefully we both get time soon!

Rachel, your weekends sound lovely! It's hot and muggy and gross here, so a pool and a frozen drink sound ideal:)

You ladies make me want to slip on a pair of trainers and go for a run - right now :) Rachel, your relaxation by the pool sounds so good! Jasprit, enjoy your storms - we've been baking around here, and I'm honestly dreaming of rain! Keep up the good work & enjoy your summer :)
