Monthly Recap: June

What we've been up to.

Jasprit:

Hi guy sorry for the lack of lately, I hoping that July will be a month where I will get around to posting more! This month was good and exciting as I finally went back to the gym after 5 weeks off! And I got to see Rihanna on her Anti World Tour, I was gutted when The Weekend pulled out, but Rihanna was amazing, she went all out with her set and she can so sing live!

Rachel:
I haven't been doing anything exciting. Just working, exercising and reading. I'm looking forward to laying out by the pool today (July 4th Holiday in the US) and just relaxing. Hopefully, with a good book because I just read two duds in a row!

What we've been watching.

Jasprit:

I finally finished with Season 2 of Power and whilst the ending had me in all kinds of shock, I'm not sure if I will continue back with the show when it continues in July :(

I've been able to continue with Suits almost a year later! I've just finished with season 2 and honestly I can't wait to binge watch it all once I've got back from my cousin's wedding.

Rachel:

I'm watching The Walking Dead, which I'll go on binges and watch several episodes in one sitting and then won't watch anything for months. That works out well because I'm almost at the end of the season five on Netflix, which is all they have available now.

Music we've been listening to.

Jasprit:

Scrillex - Recess

My cousin recently got me into Scrillex on our way back from the Rihanna concert, I really didn't see the appeal of this sort of music before, but now I'm hooked!

DJ Snake - Middle

This has been my go to jam when I'm working out and driving around, it gives off the vibes of a perfect Summer!

Rachel:
I only listen to music while I'm on a spin bike, for some reason I like to listen to books while walking/running. I've been listening to a lot of country music: Round Here Buzz, Record Year, and Broke Record by Eric Church, I'm Comin' Over by Chris Young, Single Girl and Make Me Wanna by Thomas Rhett. Not country: Hush by Cappa, and Chasing Pirates by Norah Jones, and a lot of Katy Perry are on my workout playlist.

Reading

Jasprit:

Number of books read: 1!

Best read of last month: Well I only read one book this month, this beat my grand total of last month which was 0, but this book was everything I could have asked for, it was Taylor Jenkins Reid's newest book One True Loves. In the past I haven't been able to completely love her previous books, I was completely taken by this one, I highly recommend everyone getting a copy asap!

Rachel:
Number of books read: 14

Best read of last month:

I have three 5 star reads from last month:

Making Faces Forbidden Falls (A Virgin River Novel) Compulsion (Max Revere, #2)

I switched back and forth between the audio book and e-copy for all of these books. The audio narration was excellent for every title!

Three Books I'm looking forward to reading next month.
(Click on Book for Goodreads link).

Jasprit:

With some great contemporary releases this month, I'm really hoping that they will get me back in the mood for more contemporary reading, Miranda and Kasie have never let me down in the past, so *fingers crossed*. And I have waited so long for more Harry Potter, so I can't wait for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child!

Rachel:

Poisonous (Maxine Revere, #3) Angel's Peak (Virgin River, #9) Ruined (Barnes Brothers, #4)

I know July will be another crazy busy one for both Rachel and I, I have my sisters  graduation to look forward to, London Film and Comic Con and another day full of adventure with Allie! I can't wait! I hope you all have a wonderful month!

I was reading about how Rihanna's concert at the Wembley was sold out but the place wasn't packed. Isn't that sad? Anyway, she's in my bucket list to see so you're so lucky! I wish she'd come to my city.

Boo on the two duds, Rachel. I bet I know which they are. Lol. I really need to read a book by Robyn Carr!

Have a great month, you two. <3

Jasprit: Glad the one book you DID read was a good one! That's great. Ooh the London Film and Comic Con sounds exciting - have fun!

Rachel: I like various country music, but I really love the 90's country the most. Hope you got to lay out today. It's been raining a lot the past couple days which is lame, so way too cold to swim. Hopefully I can swim later in the week.

Jasprit, it is so cool that you got to see Rihanna live! She's an amazing singer so I'm sure that must have been a really wonderful experience! The one book you read sounds heartbreaking--I've been reading the synopses of her previous books and they all sound SO GOOD. I'll definitely be picking that one up soon since I'm 100% in the mood for women's fiction right now. I'm really looked forward to Defending Taylor and The Cursed Child, so I hope they don't disappoint! *fingers crossed* I hope you're able to get more reading done in July, dear! :)

Rachel, thank you SO MUCH for all the wonderful recommendations you left on my blog! I'll have to add them all to my GR TBR ASAP! I'm thrilled that you're enjoying Carr's books so much and especially the romantic suspense genre. I also listen to music when I'm on the spin bike instead of audio books! I really need loud, motivational beats to just rock out to so I'm going to give your workout playlist a try! ;) I hope you have a wonderful July, dear! :)

Thank you Joy! We went to the Ricoh Arena in Coventry, we had heard that was sold out too, but there was so many empty seats, that they were even selling tickets at the door! And I hope you get to see her perform soon too :)

The Rihanna concert sounds like it was so much fun, Jasprit. I have such a love-hate relationship with Suits. There are some seasons I love, then others that just make me ragey. I'm really glad you enjoyed One True Loves. It was truly terrific.

Rachel, I'm excited about Making Faces after reading your review. I hope you have better reading luck this week.

Happy reading, ladies!

Like you too ladies, I haven't been doing much but work and stay inside, even through it's summer and there are so many options! My kid caught an ear infection so no beach for us for the next 10 days or so. We will travel to Sarajevo after that. Rachel, I'm jealous of all those Robyn Carr books you're reading. She's my go to author for relaxing and taking a break from life.

We should.! I'll message you.

I hope you love Making Faces, Nick! I'm loving the books I'm reading now! Sandra Brown is my go to girl. :)

Wow! Seeing Rihanna at a concert, that is awesome! =) Rachel, 14 books is great! I liked P.S. I Like You a lot. Kasie West has never let me down. I'm hoping to read a little more this month, my June total wasn't as high as I would have wanted it!

Have a wonderful July, ladies. =)

Jasprit, I'm so jealous of you :) I'd love to see Rihanna live. Also, yes to more Harry!! Meanwhile, however, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them releases in a few months, so yay! :) Rachel, I am completely humiliated by how little I read compared to you! *hides face in shame* Keep up the good work!

I've heard that One True Loves is fantastic! Glad you enjoyed it and I can't wait to read it!

I've seen Making Faces around and I think I'll have to bump it up my TBR list now!

SUITS IS MY FAVOURITE! I looove it so much! It honestly gets better every season (season 4 has been my favourite so far!). Binge watching it is the best idea.

I don't really know if I'm going to read The Cursed Child or not. I know it's more HP, but it's different so I'm not entirely too sure. I'll definitely be looking out for your review!
