Showcase Sunday #21

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and TeaThe aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

Hello everyone! I hope you've all had a fabulous week. Rachel and I have had an eventful few weeks, Rachel has been to several great author events, I think us UK bloggers have to create a campaign to get some authors over to the UK! Also we had a new blog makeover this week, which we are both really pleased with. Now over to the book haul.

Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion
The Eternity Cure by Julie Kagawa
Across the Universe by Beth Revis
Where Things Come Back by John Corey Whaley
The Murmurings by Carly Anne West
When the Stars Go Blue by Caridad Ferrer

Thank you NetGalley, Simon & Schuster, Edelweiss and Becky for the swap.

I'm so excited about getting a copy of The Eternity Cure, I was ready to start it straight away, but I'm making myself finish a few other review books off before I make a start, but I can't wait to get started. I started both Warm Bodies and The Murmurings this week, both are books which I wouldn't normally pick up, but I've been enjoying them so far, especially Warm Bodies.

Lets see which books Rachel received this week.

For Review

Invisibility by Andrea Cremer & David Levithan
Paper Valentine by Brenna Yovanoff
Unbreakable by Elizabeth Norris
Shards and Ashes by Melissa Marr & Kelley Armstrong
Nantucket Blue by Leila Howland
The Rising by Kelley Armstrong
Orleans by Sherri L. Smith
Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers

Bought:

The Indigo Spell by Richelle Mead
Rocked Under by Cora Hawks (freebie on Amazon)
There is no Light in Darkness by Claire Contreras

I’m so excited about Invisibility which is a stand-alone, yay! I talked to Andrea Cremer about her collaboration with David Levithan and she said it was so much fun to write with him and pass chapters back and forth, sometimes surprised at what came back!  Dark Triumph has been a much anticipated read after I loved Grave Mercy so much.  I bought The Indigo Spell the day it came out and I loved it!! You can read my review here.

If you posted a book haul or Showcase we would love to see what you received, please leave us a link in the comments and we will stop by and check it out.

OMG, I'm so jealous that you got Invisibility and Unbreakable, Rachel! I'm really looking forward to reading both of those books, so I absolutely can't wait to see what you think of them. If they mysteriously go missing while you're asleep, just know that it wasn't me or anything like that... And I can't wait to see what you think of The Eternity Cure and The Murmurings, Jasprit! I really liked The Immortal Rules, so I'm dying to read TEC, and TM sounds really creepy. Awesome haul, ladies!

Jasprit, I am so excited to see what you think of Where Things Come Back and Warm Bodies! I've been meaning to read those two for awhile and after seeing the movie for Warm Bodies, I'm even more curious to see how the book holds up. Rachel, you received so many ARCs that I know a lot of readers are eager to get their hands on, but I'm surprisingly not too keen on any of them. Invisible sounds AMAZING, but Cremer is an author I haven't enjoyed in the past and Levithan is an author I haven't read yet, so I don't know how I'll like that one. I can't wait to read your thoughts on it, though!(: Great haul this week, ladies! :D

OMG YOU GUYSS! You always seem to get the most amazing, pined for books! Rachel, I can't tell you how much I want to read Unbreakable. The cover's so shiny and gorgeous and ugh I just want to stroke it and sign to it. :P :) THE RISING!!!!! I can't wait to read that and see if it's better than The Calling because I really didn't enjoy that one as much as the first. But here's to a great (hopefully) third book!

J, WARM BODIES?! EEEEEP CAN I BE YOU PRETTY PLEASE I'LL GIVE YOU A UNICORN. LOL JK, but seriously! I have been keeping my eye on that catch for quite some time but I don't think I'll be getting a review copy. :P The Murmurings seems really interesting, too. I've seen it around quite a lot actually recently!

Lovely haul ladies, and I look forward to some reviews! :D

Rachel! Dark triumph is just so incredibly wonderful and heartbreaking, I can't WAIT for you to read it. And I'm so, so jealous about Unbreakable! I adored the first book. The UK release is later, though, so that sucks.
Japrit, Where Things Come Back is such a weird little book, I honestly have no idea how you'll feel about it, but I can't wait to find out.
Enjoy your books, girls!

Eeep, Rachel! You got Dark Triumph. That's one of my most anticipated reads of 2013! Hope you like it. ^^

Where Things Come Back looks really interesting Jasprit - hope you enjoy it! (And I would love to see more authors in the UK!) Happy reading both of you. :)

You got The Eternity Cure! You're so lucky! I'm really desperate to read it but would like to get the physical copy to add to my bookshelf instead of the e-book.
Us UK bloggers do need to get some authors over here. Compared to the US, we have very few events. Happy reading! :)

Great haul, ladies! Jasprit, I can't wait to see what you think of Warm Bodies. I feel like I am the only person left now who hasn't read it. :P Where Things Come Back sounds brilliant, too. I know Maja liked that one. Rachel, you have Unbreakable! And Invisibility! I can't wait to see what you think of both of those, especially the first one as I adored Unravelling last year. :)

Jas, I'm so thrilled to see Across the Universe in your pile - can't wait to hear what you think of it :)

Rachel, I didn't know Invisibility is a stand-alone, so thanks for the info. And you got Dark Triumph already? AWESOME!!

Have an amazing week :)

I forgot to mention how much I like your new blog makeover.

Wow, Rachel. Look at all those books. You have a HUGE haul. I hope you enjoy reading all those goodies. I'll be looking out for your thoughts on The Eternity Cure and Across the Universe, along with a few other of those ARCs.

Rocked Under looks pretty great, Jasprit. Hope you enjoy that one! :)

Suzanne (Parabooklover) said...

I can't wait to read The Eternity Cure either. I hope there's a lot of Kanin in this one :) But when I saw Rachel's haul I turned green lol. I want Unbreakable. I really can't wait to read that one. I'll be interested in seeing what you think of the Rising too. I couldn't finish book 2 (I can't remember the name offhand) but Chloe and Derek are supposed to be in book 3 and I love them. If they're in it a lot, I'll pick it up, but if not, I don't think I'll bother. Happy Reading ladies, enjoy all your books :D

One of the best book hauls I've seen recently!

Jasprit, you are so lucky to have The Eternity Cure! I adored the first book in the Blood of Eden series, and am really hoping that the sequel will involve Kanin a lot more. I don't have any nerves about The Eternity Cure lacking compared to The Immortal Rules. Kagawa is such a phenomenal author I have no doubt that the sequel will be fantastic! Also, Warm Bodies looks really good - I'm planning to see the movie adaption next week, but would have liked to read the book first. Hopefully it is a big hit with you. :)

Rachel, wow, a lot of books there! I'm very envious over Paper Valentine and Unbreakable. Two really great reads that are on my Wishlist. And eeep! The Indigo Spell! You lucky thing! I'm dying to get my hands on a copy - I've heard nothing but amazing things for it.

Thanks for sharing your lovely, impressive book hauls with us, ladies! I hope you enjoy each and every one of your shiny new books! :Dx
