Showcase Sunday #67

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. The aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

Hi all, I hope you've had a wonderful couple of weeks since our last post, I decided to reign it in with the review requests, especially as I'm trying to cut down my review pile, if you do want to buddy read an ARCs do let me know, my current ARC to read list can be found here. So here a the great books I received in the last few weeks.

Thank you MIRA Ink UK and Delacorte

I've not read anything by Alsaid before, but I always love books that feature friendships between characters that evolve into a romance, and Never Always Sometimes sounds super cute! Morrill's The Trouble with Destiny isn't out until December this year, but I was thrilled to get my hands on a copy, the cover is pretty amazing, so I have my fingers crossed that I will enjoy the book just as much. And finally The Darkest Part of the Forest has been receiving some amazing reviews so far and although its not the sort of book I would normally read, I am very excited about finally giving it a go.

I'm excited for the Sandra Brown additions! Her mysteries are well-plotted and her romances are very hot! I received Breath of Scandal for a tour and I'll be reviewing it on March 24th.  I've heard good things about Crushed so I gave in and requested it.  Graffiti Moon and Envy by Sandra Brown is a library audio book lend. I've read Graffiti Moon and loved it, such gorgeous writing so I couldn't pass up listening to it. The audio version was superb with Aussie three performers: one for Ed, Lucy and Poet.

Showcase Sunday #66

Hi all! I hope you all had a great week, week is back to being full on once again, that all I want to do when I get home in fall straight into bed, so this week I've only managed to finish one book, but it ended up being a brilliant one. I actually was super excited when I got a copy seeing as how Meg is one of my favourite authors, Royal Wedding, really put me through all the emotions, but I was just glad to be back with these great characters once more and MY Michael! Love Lucy was a story which I'd been hearing mixed reviews about, but Juhina at Maji Bookshelf convinced me to give it a go, I'd been following her updates and she was really impressed with the travelling aspect, so didn't hesitate in buying myself a copy. And finally I'm sure everyone by now has heard or read or All the Bright Places, a lot of comparisons have been made with this book, I'm just hoping I just don't fall in the minority when it comes to this, like I did with another really hyped read.

Becoming Rain (Burying Water, #2)  These Broken Stars (Starbound, #1) Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) CLEAR: A Death Trippers Novel
At Wolf Ranch (Montana Men, #1)  Return to Me (Covington Cove, #1)

Thank you Atria Books, Jessica Park, Avon Books, Berkley, Netgalley, and Edelweiss!

I've been wanting to read These Broken Stars ever since I got an ARC at a past ALA, so I was excited to see it was available as an audio book at my library. I just finished it yesterday and I really enjoyed it! Poison Princess is another book I've wanted to read and I grabbed the audio version at the library as well. I love free books!  Jessica Park hasn't wrote a book I didn't like so I'm excited about Clear even if I'm not completely clear what its about, lol! Return to Me sounds just like a second chance romance I'll adore!

Hi all, it's been a while since we shared a book haul post with you, but seriously in that time we received some gems that make me want to throw away my schedule right away and get stuck in with them.

Thank you to Simon Pulse, Poppy, St. Martin's Griffin and Random House

See what I mean? Where do I even get started? I was planning on reading Please Remain Calm on release day, but as usual life got in the way, but I'm hoping to finally get some time with it this weekend. And the rest of the books have been super high on my wish list, I've loved Echols Superlatives series, so I'm looking forward to Most Likely to Succeed. I'm super excited about going into Seraphina's world once more in Shadow Scale, I remember Seraphina was one of the first books I actually got when I first started blogging! Summers and Ockler have quickly become some of my favourite authors, so I know I will be devouring The Summer of Chasing Mermaids and All the Rage soon. And Spalding has really surprised me with her previous books and this one sounds super cute. Sarah Maas' A Court of Thorns and Roses needs no introductions, the early reviews I've read have been pretty amazing, so I know I have an excellent read of me here.

Rachel's Haul:

Hi everyone! I've been a little slow about getting around to everyone because I'm on vacation at the beach:

Me getting a close look at tide pools

A gorgeous sunset!

I'm having a great time and I finished Burned by Karen Marie Moning last night!! I LOVED it and my review will be coming this week.

(Click on cover for Goodreads link)

Burned (Fever, #7) Once Upon a Rose (La Vie en Roses, #1) And I Love Her (Green Mountain, #4) Crash & Burn (Tessa Leoni, #3)

I bought both the e-Copy and audio version of Burned and I loved going back and forth with both versions. I think I'm going to start the audio version again and listen to it on my commute next week.  As you all know, I'm a huge fan of Laura Florand so I was over the moon to get Once Upon a Rose! I'm told it's more of a cozy and cuddly read with less angst than her prior stories and I can't wait! The Green Mountain series by Marie Force is one of my favorite small town romance series so I'm looking forward to the latest installment. Megan has been kind of a witch in the last books, so it will be interesting to see if I like her in And I Love Her. Lisa Gardner's mysteries are light on romance, and don't always end happily in that department, but they're well-plotted and always keep me guessing!

Showcase Sunday #64

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. The aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

Hi all, I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas full with many wonderful new books! I received some great books that I had been wanting to read for a long time, also there were so many wonderful books up on Edelweiss that I just couldn't resist!

I'm one of those readers that tends to hoard my library books and then I try to read through them super fast when somebody else has requested them, I going to try and be a better reader next year and actually try and finish some of my library books before their due dates. My library even though they take ages to get books in, do have a pretty awesome collection to choose from, I was over the moon to see they had two of McFarlane's books in!

Roomies, Mortal Heart and In the Afterlight were Christmas presents which I squeed about. a big big thank you to Siiri from Little Pieces of Imagination for the first two books, not only did she send me these amazing books, she also sent so many nice little presents over from Estonia *big hugs*.

Perfect Couple was a book which I devoured in a few days, I've never really found one of Echols books which has stood out for me, but I think this one is my favourite yet! And look at that gorgeous cover to The Winner's Crime, I've been hearing many amazing things about this book, that I think I'm going to start it sooner rather than later.

Which amazing books did you get for Christmas? Leave me a link to your book hauls and I will stop by later.

I shall leave you with a picture of my gorgeous new bookshelf and Christmas tree (which I shall have to take down soon :( ). This picture and more can be found on my Instagram profile here!

Showcase Sunday: #63

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. The aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

Hi guys, I hope you've had an awesome week! I (Jasprit) was excited about watching Mockingjay, but my local cinema was fully booked for the weekend like by Wednesday! So I'm going to try and book the tickets for next weekend! Has anyone seen the movie already? And if so what are your thoughts so far? This week was another great week in terms of book hauls, Edelweiss put some amazing titles up on my birthday and I have the lovely Siiri and Rashika to thank for The Art of Lainey, Exquisite Captive and Afterworlds and The Crown of Embers respectively. Also how awesome does Sarah Alderson's new book sound? And I know that I'm totally going to devour Kirby's newest read, it sounds like something I'm going to love. And everyone I know seems to be loving Mcfarlane's books, so I had no qualms in purchasing It's Not Me, It's You.

The Restorer (Graveyard Queen, #1) Worth the Risk (The McKinney Brothers, #2) Vision in Silver (The Others, #3) I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas (Half-Moon Hollow, #2.7)

Thank you to Loveswept, Roc, Pocket Star, Audible, Signet, Edelweiss and Netgalley!

Two books had me doing a happy dance when I saw the approval in my inbox: Vision in Silver by Anne Bishop and Worth the Risk by Claudia Connor.  I LOVE Anne Bishops' series The Others and so I'm so thrilled to get the third installment! Worth the Fall by Claudia Connor was a romance that stole my heart so I can't wait to read Worth the Risk the second in the series! I'm Dreaming of an Undead Christmas is actually FREE on Audible, but I got a copy from the publisher as well. The only drawback is that if you haven't read the first book in the series, The Care and Feeding of Stray Vampires, the story won't make much sense. I borrowed the audio copy of Low Pressure by Sandra Brown from the library.

We'd love to know which books made it to your haul this week, so please link us up in the comments below!
