Showcase Sunday #26

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. The aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

Thank you to Hodder & Stoughton, Harlequin Teen, Flux Books, Orchard Books and Simon & Schuster and Indigo/Orion Books

Angelfall by Susan Ee
Confessions of An Almost-Girlfriend by Louise Rozett
The Truth About You & Me by Amanda Grace
Quicksilver by R.J Anderson
Fire with Fire by Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian
Magic Burns by Ilona Andrews
Magic Strikes by Ilona Andrews
Siege and Storm by Leigh Bardugo

I really did try to refrain from making any requests these last two weeks, but a lot of these books I just couldn't resist.Confessions of An Almost Girlfriend, Quicksilver and Fire with Fire were sequels which I had been highly anticipating, I'm hoping that all of them will live up to their predecessors. I'm probably one of the last people to pick up Angelfall! I was ecstatic to learn that it was picked up by a UK publisher, so I knew I finally had to succumb and read a copy. I also finally picked up the first book in the Kate Daniels series and despite it starting off really slow, it certainly left me wanting more, so I was quick to grab the next two books in the series.

But then yesterday was the best book day ever, I finally received Siege and Storm, a book I had been waiting on forever, but it was in a special two in one edition, so I have both Shadow and Bone and Siege and Storm together! The reviews for the latter book have been amazing so far and plus I have a double dosage of The Darkling with this edition!

Lets see which goodies Rachel received.

Thank you to Delacorte Press, Atria Books, and Netgalley.

The Beautiful and the Cursed by Paige Morgan
Star Crossed by Jennifer Echols
Eve of Darkness by Sylvia Day
This is Not a Test by Courtney Summers
Walking Disaster by Jamie McGuire
Cornerstone by Misty Provencher
Vain by Fisher Amelie

I forgot say thank to my lovely co-blogger, Jasprit for Starcrossed and This is Not a Test!! She gave me these books when we met up in London back in March!! *hangs head in shame* Thank you, Jasprit!! I won Eve of Darkness from Andrea @ The Bookish Babe.  I’m always so shocked when I win a book but I don’t know why.  With the amount of blogs I visit, and contests I enter I’m bound to win something, lol! Thank you Andrea! I’m excited to read The Beautiful and the Cursed.  It’s set in Paris and I’d love to read a book set there after just visiting.  I bought Cornerstone and Vain after seeing numerous raving reviews.  Both were .99 cents on Amazon, so I couldn’t resist!

Rachel and I are super excited about diving into these reads. Which goodies did you receive this week? Leave a link in the comments below and we'll be sure to check it out!

Jasprit, what a haul! I loved Siege & Storm and absolutely ADORE Ilona Andrews, so I'm thrilled you're reading more of her books. Angelfall is another one of my faves, so I can't wait to see what you think of that.

And Rachel, This is Not a Test has to be one of my favorite reads from last year. The last line is just...chilling. I can't wait to compare notes on it! Wonderful haul, dears!(:

Such a lovely haul, you two! Jasprit, I'm super jealous that you got Siege & Storm. I'm basically dying for it at this point, especially because I loved Shadow & Bone so much. I hope you love both as much as I did! I've had Angelfall on my Kindle for a while now, and have been meaning to pick it up for SUCH a long time. I've heard such fantastic reviews. Also, I'm interested to see what's going to happen in Fire With Fire, especially if that little paranormal element in the end of the first book will be explained further...

Rachel, I can't wait to see what you think of The Beautiful and the Cursed! That cover is gorgeous and it's a GOTHIC novel. Yes, please. I hope it's as good as it looks! Also, I totally need to pick up a Jennifer Echols book soon. I've only heard rave reviews about her books.

Fabulous haul you two, and happy reading! <3

Jasprit, I bought Angelfall a couple of months ago and I still haven't read it yet! I don't know what's wrong with me. EEEK SIEGE AND BONE. I can't wait to see what you think of it, hopefully I'll be able to read it soon. :)

Rachel, The Beautiful and the Cursed looks and sounds gorgeous! I'll be looking forward to your review of that. I still haven't read This Is Not A Test, but I've heard only great things. Walking Disaster, hehe. I actually enjoyed Beautiful Disaster, but I'm not really interested in reading Travis' point of view. I'm curious to see what you think of it!

Lovely books, you've got some amazing reads ahead of you, ladies! Happy reading. :)

Wow, nice haul! I read Quicksilver as an ARC. I liked it a lot, more so than the first one, actually. I preferred the narrators voice in this one. Enjoy your books!

What a haul!

I got a quirky bag of book goodies from Abrams & Chronicle Books. Book marks, a book journal, a funky tote bag, a personal library set and a highly amusing arty book called Sorted Books.

I have a copy of Natural Causes by James Oswald which arrived on Saturday, and I'm still trying to recover from the first chapter. Eek.
