Bout of Books Read-a-thon 7.0. Sign Up, Goals & Updates

Bout of Books

The Bout of Books read-a-thon is organized by Amanda @ On a Book Bender and Kelly @ Reading the Paranormal. It is a week long read-a-thon that begins 12:01am Monday, May 13th and runs through Sunday, May 19th in whatever time zone you are in. Bout of Books is low-pressure, and the only reading competition is between you and your usual number of books read in a week. There are challenges, giveaways, and a grand prize, but all of these are completely optional. For all Bout of Books 7.0 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog. - From the Bout of Books team

Hello everyone, seeing as I had so much fun with Bout of Books 6.0 earlier this year. I have decided to sign up for Bout of Books 7.0 which starts next week. It's the perfect chance to make a dent on my tbr pile, but also have a lot of fun at the same time too. For the last Bout of Books I read four books, which was roughly around 1551 pages, including unfinished e-books.

The books I plan to read from this time I have included a photo of below, but as my reading mood changes so frequently, I may read some books not included in this photo.

The Truth About Forever Sarah Dessen | All I Ever Wanted Vikki Wakefield | Requiem Lauren Oliver | Everything Left Unsaid Jessica Davidson | Friday Brown Vikki Wakefield | Just Listen Sarah Dessen | The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer Michelle Hodkin | Siege and Storm Leigh Bardugo

My Goals

Try to read five books from the stack above.
To take part in one twitter chat
To complete at least two challenges.

Its not a big deal if I'm not able to read five books, as the main thing is to have a lot fun. I was able to get to know a lot of new bloggers last time around, so I'm hoping to do that again this year.

I will be updating my progress in my Bout of Books button in my sidebar and also on my Goodreads profile and Twitter page.

If you're thinking of taking part in this challenge there's still time to sign up by clicking on the Bout of Books button at the top. Also if you've signed up and posted your goals, leave me a link in the comments below, I'd love to know what you plan to read. Good luck everyone!

Why are all the read-a-thons in May when my midterms are at its worst? :( I hope that I'll get to join this once. Anyhow you've got some amazing pile right there. I also have Shadow and Bone and I can't wait to read it. Requiem as well! I can't wait to see your impressions after this :)

Hahahaha. I agree with Tanja on the complaint of read-a-thons being at the worst time for me. Always! I have my exam period at uni coming up on May 20th and I need to start studying. + my first exam is already on this Thursday so yeah, no time to read for me. At least not THAT much. I hope you have fun though. I love that you chosed The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer as one of the books to read. I wasn't a huge, huge fan of the first book, I liked it, but didn't necessarily love it. I did absolutely love the second book though. I have heard so many good things about Shadow and Bone and I can't wait to start this series myself. I wish you good luck and can't wait to see what you think of all of these lovely books, Jasprit:)

You're going to read those Dessen books? Well,I'm glad. They were cute.

I always wanted to join those 24h readathones but I don't have time to sit around and read books all day. But this one seems great since it's going to be open for a whole week. I just might sign up.

Have fun and I hope you'll read more than five books from your stack.

Good luck with your challenge. I know you will rock it. I would totally love to do one of these sometime but weekends are always so busy for me!

While I would love to sign up, having a read-a-thon during Mother's Day weekend won't work for me. Also: I LOOOOOVE Sarah Dessen so I'm hoping you'll love both The Truth About Forever and Just Listen, both of which I have read well over 25 times since 2007!

Brandy check out the Bout of Books FAQ page it's very detailed and very helpful and if you still have any questions there are Twitter contacts and a schedule when their online to help out with questions, you just have to contact @boutofbooks.

Generally though, you just have to do a Signup Post like this one, link to it, then do a Goal/Update post (it can be one and the same) and link to it. The only thing compulsory is to link to the Signup page ;)

All the best and hope you enjoy your first Bout of Books Read-a-thon.

I haven't read Sarah Dessen but hear good things. Hope you enjoy it and keeps you motivated to finish it!

I was a bit undecided about the first Grisha book but I am tempted by Siege and Storm. I think I wanted the first book to be longer and go into things a bit more so might be better read all in one go!

That pile makes Shadow and Bone look absolutely massive! LOL!

I'm currently rereading Shatter Me then starting on book two and your acrostic poem makes me want to hurry up and get to Unravel Me now! I can't decide who I like better. I think Adam, but I still haven't read Destroy Me yet either so maybe I'll change my mind. Thanks for participating!

So glad to hear you were enjoying Just Listen by Sarah Dessen. It's one of my favorite books of hers (though The Truth About Forever IS my favortite book of hers, so I can't wait until you read that one).

I love your Unravel Me acrostic poem (I haven't finished Shatter Me yet, but wow, ;'emotional wreck' has me a little worried about this sequel).

Good luck on your final bout of books reading day!
