Blog Tour: Tormenting Lila by Sarah Alderson

Hello everyone, today I'm pleased to have Nate and Suki stop by and answer some questions as part of the Tormenting Lila blog Tour. Before we get started here's a bit about the book.

Tormenting Lila by Sarah Alderson
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Publication date: 1st July 2013
My rating: 4 stars
When Lila and Alex sneak off for a romantic weekend away, Lila’s hoping she’ll finally have a chance to work on Alex’s resolve. But just as things start heating up news reaches them of a serial killer at loose on the island and it isn’t long before their intimate weekend away is interrupted. A mind reader, a projector, a protective older brother and a serial killer. One of them is going to find Lila first. She's hoping it's the serial killer.

Jasprit: Hi Nate and Suki, welcome to The Readers Den, for those readers who don't know you yet, could you introduce yourselves in five words?
Nate:
Suki: Let's describe each other! OK,
Nate: cute, skinny, boy-obsessed... Nate: pot kettle black
Suki: funny, SINGLE.
Nate: Five words for Suki...
Suki: awesome mind-reading shoe-collecting fashionista
Nate: more shoes than Paris Hilton
Suki: Do not liken me to her. She might own the phrase 'That's hot!' but I invented the phrase super hot.

Jasprit: You are both immensely talented with your abilities (Suki is a telepath and Nate can astrally project) Did it take time getting used to these abilities?
Suki: I was born being able to read minds so I never knew any different. It is difficult turning it off though, the voices in my head. I've learned a few things from Demos, like how to meditate. That helps.
Nate: No. Flying is a bit like dreaming. You just do it without knowing how. It's really easy. I just had to learn when I was a kid that I could do it at school or I'd get into trouble. One time I woke up in intensive care as they thought I'd fallen into a coma.

Jasprit: If you had the chance to have any other ability what would it be?
Nate: Flying is the best. I like flying. Suki: You like spying. Nate: Well, you get to see inside people's heads.
Suki: You get to see inside their bedrooms. Believe me what goes on in people's heads is often really gross and weird. I would much prefer to be able to fly and see inside people's bedrooms.

Jasprit: And if you didn't have an ability, what do you think you'd be doing?
Suki: Designing shoes. Making Shoes. Maybe just wearing shoes. Or blogging about shoes. I think I could teach the Olsen twins a thing or two about fashion. And that Spice girl who's married to the hot fooballer. Maybe I could become their stylist. Nate would be chasing real boys and not spending his time hanging out invisibly in Harry Styles' dressing room.
Nate: That is such a lie. She's lying. Just for the record. It wasn't Harry Style's dressing room. If I couldn't astrally project I would probably be living with my grandmother, going to school and hating it.

Jasprit: Demos group has a fine set of personalities, what would I need to do to join?
Suki: Get a superhot power like ours. And be happy living out of a bus.
Nate:We're not living out of a bus anymore. And you didn't do that anyway, you were always disappearing off for nights at the Four Seasons and we'd have to come looking for you. Remember what happened last time you did that?
Suki: you had to bring that up.

Jasprit: Demos is one heck of an enigmatic character, can you reveal something about him which some of his biggest fans (especially me) are dying to know?
Nate: He meditates every day. And he spends a really long time on the toilet.
Suki: He keeps a photo of Jack in his wallet and his favourite food is Japanese.

Jasprit: You both have become fast friends, what do you think drew you both together to this special friendship you both have?
Suki: There is only one person in the world I would give my Hello Kitty toy collection to, and that's Nate: I have spent more time in his head than I have any other person, so I can fully testify to the fact he is the sweetest, kindest, most boy-obsessed person on the planet. And Harry Styles would be lucky to have him.

Jasprit: What are your plans for the future?
Suki: Nate is going to stalk Harry Styles and marry him.
Nate: I'm not! I'm going to finish High School. My dad says I have to. But then I don't know what I want to do. Suki and I are cooking up plans.
Suki: Shhhh don't tell. We're concocting the most superhot business idea since well, since Steve Jobs decided to make a computer and call it an Apple.

Jasprit: Finally some this or that questions!

Jasprit: Love at first sigh or slowly falling in love?
First sight (have you seen Alex?)

Jasprit: Books or movies?
Nate and Suki: Movies. (Especially if we're in them.)

Jasprit: A night out in the town or a quiet night in?
Nate and Suki: Out.

Jasprit: Teleportation or invisibility?
Nate and Suki: Invisibility.

Jasprit: Alex or Jack?
Nate and Suki: Both together. At the same time. Naked.

Jasprit: Thank you both so much for stopping by on The Readers Den!

Nate and Suki: Thank you for having us.

Now I have something sepcial in store for all you Alex fans, we have a giveaway. By visiting this link here, you can enter to be named as Alex's girlfriend in a prequel story which is set to be released in October. Also the chance to a personally signed annoted copy of Sarah Alderson's newest release The Sound (which is released in August) and have a sneak peak at the steamy scene between Alex and Lila which is released in January! Now this is one amazing giveaway, so make sure you go and enter!

Having spent most of her life in London, Sarah quit her job in the non profit sector in 2009 and took off on a round the world trip with her husband and princess-obsessed daughter on a mission to find a new place to call home. After several months in India, Singapore, Australia and the US, they settled in Bali where Sarah now spends her days writing by the pool and trying to machete open coconuts without severing a limb. She finished her first novel Hunting Lila just before they left the UK, wrote the sequel, Losing Lila, on the beach in India, and had signed a two book deal with Simon & Schuster by the time they reached Bali. A third book, Fated, about a teenage demon slayer, which was written during their stay in California, was published in January 2012 by Simon Pulse (an imprint of Simon & Schuster). The sequels to Fated are slated for release in November 2012 and March 2013, while two standalone YA thrillers will be out in summer 2013 & summer 2014. She is currently co-writing the Hunting Lila screenplay and working on several other books and screenplays (multi-tasking is one of her favorite things).

Such a fun character interview! I love the questions and their banter. Nate and Suki seem like great friends. Its interesting how they both can know things about other people without the another person knowing. I'll rather astral project like Suki, mind reading could become a hassle.
