A Kid's Perspective: Judging a Book by it's Cover #5

A Kid's Perspective: Judging a Book By Its Cover is a feature hosted by Sara @ Forever 17 Books where Sara gets her six year old son Shawn's perspective on a few Young Adult covers.

Hello everyone, my sister is back with another interpretation of a YA book cover, this time she has decided to go for a book that I've never read before. So without further ado!

I think this book is about a girl who has a long distance relationship with her boyfriend and the way they show their love for each other is through postcards.

After my sister wrote her perspective, I went to check what this book was actually about, and it does actually involve the MC sending a postcard to her sort of boyfriend. I actually think that I would probably would end up reading this book with my sister's perspective, I hardly see anyone send postcards anymore, so it would be interesting to see if their relationship would work out seeing how they live so far apart!

I just adore these posts, Jasprit! They're always so lovely and fun. And as someone who's in a long distance relationship and who regularly expresses affection through postcards, I'm fairly certain I need to read this one. :)
Thank you for sharing!

I never liked to draw people, simply I couldn't do it properly. Your sister is better at that than I'm. I like her idea :) Great post Jasprit :)

I haven't heard of this book at all, but I love that your sister was spot-on. I've never read any books featuring post cards, actually, so I definitely need to check this one out. Thanks for sharing, Jasprit!(:

Your sister's idea of this novel is very smart! Definitely smarter than me during that age group, lol.

Thanks for sharing, hon! <33

These are so cute -- love that your sister does this with you! And it looks like this book cover is one of those that actually tells a bit about the story, rather than just being pretty (I know, I know. We love the pretty!).

Oh yeah, postcards are awesome! I used to send them with my friends who lived in the next city, but we went to kidergarten together. On weekends, we'd open our letters and write back. LOL. The last postcard I got was about 3 years ago (unless it's my aunt or my late grandmother who live(d) about 100 km away from us), when one of my best friends sent me a Valentine's card from Italy when she went skiing there. (Here, we celebrate Valentine's day as a celebration of friendship, but of course, it's about love as well if you're together with someone. For me, it's more about friendships though and I always bake something for my friends:) Ok, enough about Valentine's day lol:)) and the card arrived about 1,5 months later :D Anyhow, your sister's perspective was quite spot on! However, I love everything your sister comes up with. Best meme ever!! :)

I love this "A Kid's perspective"! It's an awesome way to see if the cover conveys what the book is about. And that drawing is sweet <3

Ahh, postcards are so rarely used. It would definitely be a nice way for a long-distance relationship to keep in contact.

Aww I really like that idea! I'd probably pick this book up based on your sister's description alone. I haven't come across it before either. Thanks for sharing! :)

This sounds like a great summer read! I haven't heard of this book before but I like your sister's interpretation - I like the blue background in your sister's cover :)

These are so cute! That's awesome your sister kind of got the premise right. i'd totally read a book with her summary.

I keep thinking I should get my daughter to do this but I keep forgetting. The book itself sounds fun. I know no one sends letters or postcards anymore, it is a dying form of communication.

I love this feature, and should really get my kids to give it a try.
Your sister is very perceptive and I love her drawing.
Thanks for sharing, Jasprit!

I love this! It's always interesting to see how kids portray things and how they usually understand things better than adults.

That's so interesting how she partially guessed what the book was about. I would love to read a book about the girl sending post cards to her long distance bf too! :)

I think the whole postcard concept is interesting. Like you said, people to write those very often.
