Hello
everyone, today I’m pleased to be part of the AToMR blog tour for Stalk Me by
Jillian Dodd. Today I have Jillian sharing a post with us about what inspired
Stalk Me. But first here’s a bit about the book.
Stalk Me by Jillian Dodd
Publication date: September 1st 2012.
Gossip girl meets Hollywood in this new series by Jillian Dodd
Keatyn has everything she ever dreamed of. Her life is following the script she wrote for the perfect high school experience. She’s popular, goes to the best parties, dates the hottest guy, and sits at the most coveted lunch table.
She’s just not sure she wants it anymore.
Because really, things aren’t all that perfect.
Her best friend is threatening to tell everyone her perfect relationship is a scam.
Her perfect boyfriend gets drunk at every party they go to.
It’s exhausting always trying to look and act perfect.
And deep down, she isn’t sure if she has any true friends.
To add to the drama, her movie star mom has a creepy stalker.
A hot, mysterious man keeps flirting with her and telling her they should make a movie together.
And she’s crushing on an adorable surfer. Dating him would mean committing social suicide.
So she writes a new script. One where all the pieces of her life will come together in perfect harmony.
But little does she know, there's someone who will do anything to make sure that doesn’t happen.
What
Inspired STALK ME
Guest Post by Jillian Dodd
I wanted to write a long series. I knew I wanted the majority of it set in boarding school. How I got to this series was a long processs. At first, my thought was to have Keatyn decide she wanted to get away from the pressures of her old school. That she would choose to go there and that she would choose to lie about who her mom was. She wanted to make true friends. But that was kind of boring and the first time things got tough, she would’ve said screw it and went back home. So then I needed a reason to make her stay. That’s when the stalker storyline came into it. I needed bigger stakes to drive the series. But really, it’s always been about her and a certain boy. It’s really their love story. About figuring out who you are. About how sometimes fate does intervene in your life. Like if you believe in all that stuff. True Love. Fairy Tales. I think we all want to believe in that. Keatyn lives an extravagent lifestyle, but she is the same inside as we all are. She wants people to like her. She wants to be loved. And she wants the dream guy. The guy she’s destined to be with forever.
Jillian Dodd grew up on a farm in Nebraska, where she developed a love for Midwestern boys and Nebraska football. She has drank from a keg in a cornfield, attended the University of Nebraska, got to pass her candle, and did have a boy ask her to marry him in a bar. She met her own prince in college, and they have two amazing children, a Maltese named Sugar Bear, and two Labrador puppies named Camber Lacy and Cali Lucy. She is the author of the That Boy Trilogy and The Keatyn Chronicles Series.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts
Jillian! I’m always intrigued about how authors get their ideas for writing
their books in the first place.

I've seen this book before...I'm actually doing a promo post for it, but I haven't got time to read it. Sounds good. So maybe one day I'll read it! :)
I haven't heard of this series but the cover is really striking and I agree, series are great because we get to spend more time with characters :)
YEAH SERIES!!!! I read series almost exclusively, I can't even remember the last book I picked up that was stand alone. I just love reading a book and knowing that when I reach the last page, it's not actually the end and I'll get more time with the characters and world in the next installment. I'm a series girl for life!
I am definitely more fond of series than I am of standalones. :) Also, I like the mention of a boarding school. ;) I will have to check this book out! Great post!
I love both series and standalones! And I've heard Jillian Dodd's That Boy so I'm looking forward to read Stalk Me!
Thanks for sharing this awesome guest post with us, Jasprit ♥
I remember Jillian being so generous when I requested this book from her. I was really excited but unfortunately it didn't quite work for me. I guess I expected to much. But I hope you guys enjoy this more than I did. Thanks for sharing this guest post, Jasprit.
I love series, but I'm such a bad series reader lately! I love that we get to know the characters more in a series, but lately I've been enjoying more and more standalones. :) It's easier to read when you know that you won't have to suffer a cliffhanger in the end. ;) Anyway, this book sounds very interesting! I have to know more about the stalker thing. Awesome guest post! <3 Thank you for sharing, Jasprit! :)
Sorry, for some reason , I thought you ladies are giving away a copy. Lol! Anyway, like I said previously, I haven't read this series and will have to remedy that soon. :)
This book sounds really good and it's interesting to see how the author worked out how the story would progress. Thanks for sharing Jaspirit. I'll be adding this one to the tbr :)
I actually prefer standalones over series, but nice guest post regardless! This book definitely is not for me (Gossip Girl= *backs away slowly*) but I'm sure this book will have a legion of fans..
