Showcase Sunday #32

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. The aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

Hello everyone, I hope you've all had a wonderful week, this last week has been a nice quiet one and I got to come home to some great packages, don't you just love them more when they're totally unexpected? I have to say that this has to be one of my best hauls in a while!

Kiss and Make Up by Sarra Manning

Thank you to Donna from Book Passion For Life for these lovely books!

Thank you to Donna from Book Passion For Life and Jodie from Books for Company

Thank you to Teri Terry

The Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Megan Spooner | Heartbeat by Elizabeth Scott | The Infinite Moment of Us by Lauren Myracle

Thank you to Disney Hyperion, Harlequin Teen and Abrams.

Where do I even begin? There is so much awesomeness here that I have been dying to get my hands on; The Sound and These Broken Stars I have such high hopes for! I have heard such great things about Dangerous Girls, that I had to get my own copy. After devouring Golden by Jessi Kirby earlier this year, I had been planning on reading more of her books right away, and can I just say Moonglass sounds amazing. A lot of these books are thanks to amazing bloggers such as Donna and Jodie and authors such as Teri Terry, she sent me signed copies, with awesome swag and a fabulous card, thank you all ladies, you rock! If you don't hear from me again for the next couple of weeks it'll be because of all of these amazing books.

Over to Rachel and her goodies.

Thank you to Simon Pulse, Hyperion, Delacorte Press, Balzer+Bray, Katherine Tegen Books, Kensington Books, Hachette Book Group and Netgalley.

The Chocolate Touch by Laura Florand | Full Blooded by Amanda Carlson | Hot Blooded by Amanda Carlson

Thank you Cecy Robson and Heidi @ Rainy Day Ramblings!

So, I bought Crash after getting Bang.  Crash didn’t receive the highest praise, but I was interested in it from the beginning.  Hopefully lowering my expectations will help me enjoy it more.  Lisa McMann has been a hit and miss author for me. Hit with Wake, miss with Gone & Fade.  Hit with Cryer’s Cross.  So we’ll see.  Shadowlands is another that didn’t get the best reviews, but I was drawn to it because of the mystery, danger, and suspense. I requested The Chocolate Touch after Keertana’s @ Ivy Book Bindings raving reviews of the series. I’m wondering if I have to read all three predecessors to enjoy this one, but don’t you just love that cover?!!! I went to Paris earlier in the year and these are set in that amazing city *sigh*

I won A Cursed Embrace from Heidi’s blog Rainy Day Ramblings. This is the second time I’ve won a book through one of her giveaways! I just realized this is the second book in the series when I was putting this all together. I guess I better buy the first one!

So that was our epic book haul for the last two weeks, if you posted a book haul feel free to leave a link in the comments, as we'd love to see what you received!

Awesome haul. I'll look forward to your review of the Diary of a Crush books by Manning. The Full Blooded series are good fun, a bit cheesy at times but harmless. Enjoy your books.

Jasprit, I'm so curious to see what you think of Sara Manning, The Moon and More, and These Broken Stars. I find that the latter especially has gotten a lot of rave reviews, so I'm curious to see if it continues to live up to expectations after the initial hype.

Rachel, I'd recommend reading The Chocolate Thief before The Chocolate Touch, but it isn't necessary. You'll probably get a better understanding of the secondary characters and how their personalities impact the MC if you do, though. I'm also dying to see what you think of Carlson as I'm planning to read her books soon.

Wonderful haul, ladies!

You both got so many amazing books! Jasprit- The Sound!!! I'm literally dying for that one! Sarah Alderson writes some really gripping books, and I have no doubt that it will be super thrilling and satisfying. Everyone seems to love Sara Manning's writing, I really should pick up one of her books sometime. >.< The Infinite Moment Of Us & These Broken Stars look so promising, can't wait to see what you think of them!
Rachel- I'm so freaking jealous of you!!! I really enjoyed Crash, so I can't wait to read Bang! Hopefully it won't let me down. Thornhill seems really good, as does The Chocolate Touch; kind of giving off a Anna and the French Kiss vibe sort of.

Enjoy your books, ladies! I'm looking forward to your reviews. <3 x

Oh wow!!!! You both got such great hauls! And unexpected books are the best :D

I have only read one book by Sarra Manning and I really enjoyed it and have been wanting to read more from her. And those front covers for her books are so cute, I want them displayed proudly on my bookshelf. I also love all of that gorgeous swag from Teri Terry. Enjoy all of your new goodies, Jasprit!

Thornhill sounds amazing, Rachel! And Crash and Bang also look really fantastic. There are so many new books to add to my wish list after looking at your impressive book haul!

I really hope you both enjoy every lovely new book you have received. I'm looking forward to reading your reviews for them all. :)

Thanks so much for sharing this brilliant bookish post with us, Jasprit and Rachel. I always love having a snoop at these hauls! :D

Another spectacular week for you ladies. What I would do for an ARC of Thornhill? Oh and Bang by Ms. McMann. Le sigh.

Have a great week, ladies!

And I'm really looking forward to seeing what you make of 3:59, Rachel! I've only read one of Gretchen McNeil's books in the past, but I enjoyed it overall. Great hauls as always, ladies. :)

I got an ARC of These Broken Stars in May - and an ARC of Thornhill in April! I just got around to read Thornhill... I don't know if you've read it yet, but it's a great sequel! And I really want to read 3:59 at some point. Will do!

Check out my STS post!

Ahhh, ALL THE AWESOMENESS in this post. You lovely ladies get such great books!

Jasprit, The Sound looks really interesting, and I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts about it. I haven't read Golden yet (I know, I know), but I've heard such great things about it that I'm already looking forward to picking up her other books. I also received These Broken Stars on NetGalley, which gave me a heart attack and caused me to erupt in excitement (there MAY have been a bit of book shimmying going on...). I've been thinking about requesting The Infinite Moment of Us, and MAY just do it, since it seems like a lot of people have been getting approved!

Rachel, I also have heard some negative things about Crash, but I too have always been interested in the concept, so I'm thinking about reading it. I'll be waiting for your review. And I actually REALLY enjoyed Shadowlands, but that's because I went in with so few expectations- I'd only read a single review (which was positive) before I went into it. It's definitely not a book for everyone, but I think you may love it as much as I did. I have an ARC of the sequel, and can't wait to start! Also, 3:59 sounds fantastic, and I can't wait to read that one when it comes out. I remember reading Keertana's review for The Chocolate Touch, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it fares for you!

Awesome sauce post you two! Enjoy ALL those fabulous books and keep being amazing! <3

Oh boy, where should I start! I really can't wait to read The Sound as it sounds like a great read. Also I enjoyed Slated and Fractured so I really hope you'll too :) I'm really interested in The Chocolate Touch after reading Keertana's review, besides that title helps for sure. Great haul girls :)

Wow, another great book week for the both of you! Rachel, I'm super jealous you got Thornhill, I can't wait to read that one! Though I definitely need to go back and read book 1 because I've forgotten absolutely everything other than I really enjoyed it. And Jasprit, can't wait to see what you think of These Broken Stars! So very, very excited for that one!!!

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you think of Moonglass. I was so surprised at my love for Golden and really wanted to check out Kirby's others books but haven't had a chance yet. 3:59 sounds SO GOOD. Happy Reading girls!

I loved MOONGLASS, and 3:59 looks excellent!

Hope you both enjoy everything :)

Ooh looks like you both had wonderful hauls these past few weeks! I'll be interested to read your thoughts on Moonglass, Jasprit! And I've heard good things about Fractured but haven't had the opportunity to read it myself, so I'm eager to see what you think on that as well!
Rachel, I actually ended up buying The Chocolate Kiss (first book in the series that has The Chocolate Touch) after reading Keertana's review, among others. It was on sale for really cheap for Kindle, but I'm not sure if that sale is going on any more. Regardless, it doesn't sound as though it's necessary to read each book in order, so I hope you do end up enjoying it!
I hope you two both have a happy week of reading!
