Showcase Sunday #43

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. The aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

Hello everyone, Jasprit is away on her blogging break so it's just me this week.  I'm officially recharged after a lovely blogging break and I got a lot of reading in.  I hope everyone had a fun holiday season!

 For review:

Masquerade (Games, #3)  Being Sloane Jacobs  The Chocolate Temptation (Amour et Chocolat, #6)  The Sharpest Blade (Shadow Reader, #3)

Masquerade (Games #3) by Nyrae Dawn
Being Sloan Jacobs by Lauren Morrill
The Chocolate Temptation by Laura Florand
The Sharpest Blade (Shadow Reader #3) by Sandy Williams

The Destiny of Violet & Luke (The Coincidence, #3)   Fear Nothing (Detective D.D. Warren, #7)

The Destiny of Violet & Luke by Jessica Sorensen
Fear Nothing by Lisa Gardner

Thank you to Forever, Random House Publishing, Laura Florand, Penguin Group, Dutton, and Netgalley!

I'm so beyond excited to read The Chocolate Temptation, as I'm sure most of you know I'm a little obsessed with this series! And that may be the understatement of the year, lol! I was really excited when I heard Lauren Morrill would be coming out with a new novel: Being Sloan Jacobs so of course I eagerly clicked the request button when I saw it on Netgalley. I was disappointed when I didn't get approved right away, but then I started seeing reviews come through and thought "phew" dogged a mediocre read!  Of course, the minute I thought that I was sent an approval email. Let's hope my lowered expectations helps with my enjoyment level.  After finding out The Destiny of Violet & Luke ends with a major cliffhanger I've decided to put off reading until we're close to the release date of the next book. I HATE cliffhangers!

So that's it for me.  If you have a haul this week, leave me a link and I'll be by to check it out.  Happy reading!

Rachel! Welcome back! :) Some great books this week, I really need to start Laura Florand's books, they seem so adorable and they're set in France, correct? I actually really enjoyed Being Sloane Jacobs, it was a really fun read! Enjoy your books, Rachel. :)

I just got dissed on two Edelweiss requests yesterday so I feel you pain! Excited about The Sharpest Blade, though. Sounds good!

Glad to see you back, Rachel! :)
I haven't read any reviews for Being Sloane Jacobs yet but it sounds like a cute read so I hope you enjoy it.
I seem to have missed out on Jessica Sorensen's books-I've read The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden and The Secret of Ella and Micha. I enjoyed both so I'll have to check her latest ones out soon.

Happy New Year, Rachel! :)

Lovely haul, Rachel! I haven't attempted to check out Net Galley in the last month or so but might venture out next month. Just so many things to do right now.

I hope you'll enjoy everything!

I wasn't a big fan of Being Sloane Jacobs, but I really enjoyed The Chocolate Temptation. I'm also looking forward to your thoughts on the Shadow Reader Trilogy! I've been waiting for the whole series to release and now that it has, I can't wait to dive into it. Wonderful haul, Rachel!(:

Eeeep, Being Sloan Jacobs! I AM DYING TO READ THAT. Like, I'm having a book shimmy-dancing-jam all by myself right now just looking at your haul. I hope you enjoy your reading time!

Being Sloane Jacobs is rather popular at the moment and I haven't read anything of Morrill's. I'm a huge fan of contemporary YA so this is perfect. I love Jessica Sorenson's books at the mo but I haven't heard of this one so I'll be interested to see what this one like in comparison to Callie and Kayden. Enjoy them all Rachel. :)

Yay for your chocolate book ;) *happy dance* I want to read Masquerade bad, but I don't know what's up with that cover. I'm not a fan. Never mind though, because Nyrae delivers every time. Being Sloane Jacobs is still rocking on my tbr. Also, WTH. ARE YOU FOR REAL? Why am I not even surprised by this? Jessica Sorensen and a cliff hanger. Hmmm.. I wonder why. *eyeroll* It's not like I mind buying great books you know and the only one I've read by her --Lila and Ethan's book-- I really enjoyed, but for real? Nick told me that EVERY single one of her books ends with a cliff hanger. (Not L&E because it's a standalone) but still. This is just.. so frustrating for me and I haven't even read the rest of her books. I don't know if I want to because, same as you, not a cliff hanger fan :( Congrats on this amazeballs haul though and good to have you back:)

Nice books, Rachel! Karen at For What It's Worth got me interested in Florand, and when I saw you love her books, i was sold. Laura sent me The Chocolate Temptation last night, and I've ordered book one, bc it's cheaper in print than digital! I hope I love the series too.

Enough rambling, lol. Enjoy your books!

The Sharpest Blade looks pretty badass! :) I am going to have to look it up and maybe read it (I don't read many adult paranormals / urban fantasy, but I'll always make room for a good looking and sounding book^^). Great haul, Rachel! Enjoy all your reads!
