Showcase Sunday #66

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. The aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

Hi all! I hope you all had a great week, week is back to being full on once again, that all I want to do when I get home in fall straight into bed, so this week I've only managed to finish one book, but it ended up being a brilliant one. I actually was super excited when I got a copy seeing as how Meg is one of my favourite authors, Royal Wedding, really put me through all the emotions, but I was just glad to be back with these great characters once more and MY Michael! Love Lucy was a story which I'd been hearing mixed reviews about, but Juhina at Maji Bookshelf convinced me to give it a go, I'd been following her updates and she was really impressed with the travelling aspect, so didn't hesitate in buying myself a copy. And finally I'm sure everyone by now has heard or read or All the Bright Places, a lot of comparisons have been made with this book, I'm just hoping I just don't fall in the minority when it comes to this, like I did with another really hyped read.

Rachel's Haul:

(Click on titles for Goodreads link)

Becoming Rain (Burying Water, #2)  These Broken Stars (Starbound, #1) Poison Princess (The Arcana Chronicles, #1) CLEAR: A Death Trippers Novel
At Wolf Ranch (Montana Men, #1)  Return to Me (Covington Cove, #1)

Thank you Atria Books, Jessica Park, Avon Books, Berkley, Netgalley, and Edelweiss!

I've been wanting to read These Broken Stars ever since I got an ARC at a past ALA, so I was excited to see it was available as an audio book at my library. I just finished it yesterday and I really enjoyed it! Poison Princess is another book I've wanted to read and I grabbed the audio version at the library as well. I love free books!  Jessica Park hasn't wrote a book I didn't like so I'm excited about Clear even if I'm not completely clear what its about, lol! Return to Me sounds just like a second chance romance I'll adore!

Jasprit, I'm so curious to see what you think of Love, Lucy. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews of it so yours is going to be a deciding one for me.

Rachel, I didn't realize you hadn't read These Broken Stars! It's amazing and I know you'll love it since the romance is just perfect.

Lovely haul, ladies, and I'm so excited to see you both reading Laura Florand--I just LOVE her books, especially during these cold months! ;)

I love these picks! Meg Cabbot never disappoints!;) And These Broken Stars was as good as the cover is beautiful! I hope you like it:)
I haven't listened to many audiobooks but recently I listened to one for Station Eleven and loved it so I think I might try the audiobook for These Broken Stars too! Do you have any other favourite audiobooks?:)
Can't wait for your review on All The Bright Places because I've heard so much about it so it'll be great to see your take on it;)

I've been hearing great things about All the Bright Places. And I want to read Love Lucy too - even though I've read a couple not so great reviews. I like the sound of the travel aspect of the book!

Fantastic haul, ladies. I also grabbed an audio of Poison Princess as it was on sale at Audible. And Jasprit, I've been curious about Love, Lucy so I'll be on the lookout for your review.

Oh wow, I love audiobooks, Maya, so I have so many great ones to recommend. I'll probably forget a bunch but here's a few: Rebel Belle was fun, The Iron Druid Chronicles, Mercy Thomson, The Others series by Anne Bishop, One Plus One, Soulless, but if you check out my GRs page (link above & to the right) and click on my "audiobooks" you'll see my ratings for all of them. Hope you enjoy These Broken Stars! :)

"all I want to do when I get home in fall straight into bed" -- Hahaha, that's essentially what I did yesterday, and why I'm now commenting today to catch up! Except less productive than you, and you finishing a book!

Woah! I had no idea that there were 11 Princess Diaries books. That's some serious dedication and liking of Michael and the characters on your part. So curious now :O. I hope you enjoy Love, Lucy & All the Bright Places!

"Poison Princess is another book I've wanted to read and I grabbed the audio version at the library as well. I love free books!" -- I've been thinking of starting this series too. I heard a bit of disappointing things about the recently released 3rd one so I'm a bit miffed about starting but yeah. Since you've read Burned, have you read Kresley Cole's other books? They've been a mixed lot for me.

"Jessica Park hasn't wrote a book I didn't like so I'm excited about Clear even if I'm not completely clear what its about, lol! Return to Me sounds just like a second chance romance I'll adore!" -- Do you read a bunch of NA? I've had mixed experiences so when I do try some NA books, I usually try for the ones others have recommended. Jessica Park is a name I've frequently heard...

These Broken Stars!! I have so much love for that book/series. Tarver and Lilac are OTP-worthy. :)
I still need to catch up on Burying Water, but I love the sound of Becoming Rain. Definitely different from the usual NA.
I'm also curious to see what you think of Return to Me.

Happy reading, girls!

These Broken Stars is one I still need to make time to read. I really loved Flat Out Love and didn't know that she had a new one out! Will be checking it out for sure. Happy reading you two!
