Showcase Sunday: #56

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits and Tea. The aim is to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, bought in bookshops and downloaded onto eReaders this week.

Hi all! So the last couple of weeks have been awesome blogging-wise, I received two amazing packages, one from my #ninjabookswap (first photo) and one from my lovely co-blogger Rachel (second photo). Both packages contained books which I can't wait to read, I think I'm going to have a hard time deciding which to read first. And lastly I was able to attend YALC at London Film and Comic Con, I should have my recap post of the event up soon. I was lucky to meet amazing authors, and get copies of The Manifesto on How to Be Interesting and Stolen and also meet many amazing bloggers!

Jasprit's Books:

Breathe, Annie, Breathe

Miranda Kenneally has always been my go to author, and so I've had her book Breathe, Annie, Breathe for the longest time, I have high hopes for this one, as everyone I seem to know has thoroughly enjoyed this book. And Nick and Siiri have been going on about the Addicted series for ages now, so I finally succumbed and bought a copy!

Over to Rachel and her haul!

Rachel's Books:

(Click on titles for Goodreads link)

Up at Butternut Lake (The Butternut Lake Trilogy, #1)  The Chocolate Rose (Amour et Chocolat, #3; La Vie en Roses, #1)River Marked (Mercy Thompson, #6) Dragon Bound (Elder Races, #1)

I bought Up At Butternut Lake after Andrea's @The Bookish Babe wonderful review.  I just checked and it's now $1.99 at Amazon and I bought it for much more than that! *sobs* Oh well, what can you do? At least I got a steal of a deal for The Chocolate Rose by Laura Florand after Siiri @ Little Pieces of Imagination tweeted and alerted me it was FREE on Amazon (click HERE for link) so that eased the pain a little. I'm continuing on with the Mercy Thompson series after my husband has blown through the first five books. We were on vacation last week (which is why I've been a bit scarce) and he became hooked. That reinvigorated my enthusiasm for the series and I bought and audio copy of book 6, River Marked.  I'm trying the first of the Elder Races, (Dragon Bound). I hear a lot of praise for the series.

What lovelies did you get this week? Link us up and we'll come check it out!

Oh I read Dragon Bound a while ago and I was so adorable, Rachel. I am sure you'll enjoy it! Also if you stopped reading the Mercedees Thompson series because it was not all that great (book 4 was a major disappointment), continue. Book 6 is soooooo good. River Marked will totally be worth it.

I ADORE your haul, Jasprit! I am dying to read I'll Give You the Sun and I really hope you'll enjoy it! :D And For Darkness Shows the Stars is such an adorable book. If you've read Persuasion and enjoyed it, you'll definitely love this one. Oh and Addicted to You was realllly good! I hope you'll enjoy it!! :D

Lovely haul ladies and I hope you two have a fabulous week! :)

Jasprit, I'm seriously LOVING that cover of Stolen--I haven't seen it before!--and am so anxious for your opinion on Nelson's latest since I loved her debut and am hoping this one is just as impressive.

Rachel, I'm so glad you snagged The Chocolate Rose and River Marked, though not my favorite MT, is still a treat. Frost Burned is downright fantastic and Night Broken is excellent as well, so you'll want to get to those sequels soon for sure, I think!

Wonderful hauls, ladies, and happy reading! :)

Congrats on all those lovely books, Jasprit! Hopefully you love them all.

I hope you enjoy Butternut Lake, Rachel. I'm excited to start the second one. I did pick up The Chocolate Rose! I was ordering the print when I saw it was free. It's not my favorite in the series, but still very good! Enjoy!

You ladies got some great books! Because Siiri and Nick are evil (peer pressure I tell you) I went ahead and ordered all the Addicted books for my Kindle. I got totally lucky and bought them when they were on that $1.99 sale (totally unplanned). For Darkness Shows the Stars is really good (a creative retelling of Persuasion), and I adored I'll Give You the Sun and Breathe, Annie, Breathe - I hope you love them, J! And yay for the Elder Races! I can't wait to see what you think, R. Dragos and Pia are one of my OTPs. :D
