Author Event Recap & Giveaway: Tammara Webber & Abbli Glines

Last Tuesday I had the privilege of meeting Tammara Webber and Abbi Glines at the Barnes & Noble in Glendale, California.  I had a great time! I had met Abbi Glines before, and she's quite nice and lively, but I'd never met Tammara Webber.  I LOVED Easy so I was thrilled to meet Tammara in person. I'll share some fun tidbits I learned, but don't forget to scroll down to the bottom because I have a SIGNED copy of Easy & Breakable by Tammara Webber and Fallen Too Far, Never Too Far, and Rush Too Far by Abbi Glines to giveaway!

Tammara Webber & Abbi Glines

  • Both Tammara and Abbi have self-published and have traditionally published, and because of this they seem to get a little more consideration because the big publishing houses know they can go it on there own if they're not happy.
  • Tammara may write stories centering on side characters from Easy. She doesn't have any deals yet, but she has some ideas. If that happens we'll probably get glimpses of Jacqueline and Lucas in the future. Yay!!
  • Tammara doesn't outline when writing and Abbi does it with every book.  Abbi didn't outline her first book Breathe, and she's never been completely happy with the way it turned out.
  • It takes Tammara roughly four to five months to write a book and it takes Abbi SEVEN days! She doesn't do anything else beside write straight through. Wow!
  • Abbi hasn't made any film deals, but she's had offers. Once you've sold your rights they have control for sometime and may not even make a film, so your book could be held up for years.  She's holding out for a TV series deal because she feels her books/series have more going on than you could squeeze into a movie and she feels that format would is better suited for her stories.
  • Tammara's son, Zachary Webber narrates Breakable as well as a few other books like Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover and Red Hill by Jaime McGuire (total recommend!).  Tammara listened to the audio version of Breakable with him while on a road trip, and said it was an emotional experience in parts.
  • Abbi plans on closing out the Sea Breeze series, but doesn't see an end yet with Rosemary Beach.
  • Abbi might write another Vincent Boys book, a prequel in all three POVs, Bo, Ashton and Sawyer.
  • Nan may have a something set up in (slowly) One More Chance.  Hmm...haven't read this series yet, but Nan's infamous (bitchy) reputation precedes her.
  • Tammara never planned on writing Lucas's POV. She never heard his voice when she wrote Easy until about a year after Easy was published. Bits of him starting coming through to her, and it was because of Landon's story she ultimately decided to go forward.

This was the first time I attended an event at the Glendale Barnes & Noble. The store is huge (three stories) and quite nice.  The YA section alone was several aisles. Four or five? Forgot to count, but here are a couple of pictures:

Now for the good part.  I had my books signed, but I want to share the love so I have two amazing giveaways here.  One for a Signed Copy of Easy and Breakable by Tammara Webber, and another for a Signed Copy of Fallen Too Far, Never Too Far, and Rush Too Far by Abbi Glines.  This giveaway is restricted to US Residents Only, and entrants must be 18 years or older. Good luck!

First off, I'm insanely jealous you got to meet both these awesome authors. And thank you so much for sharing those little tidbits of information. I think a tv show for Abbi's books would be amazing. And as far as Nan she is the bitchiest character I think I have ever read. I don't like her at all. The Fallen Too Far series is by far my favorite of Abbi's books. I have wanted to own them so badly since they've came out, so a signed collection would make my entire year. I loved Easy. It's been awhile since I've read it but I know it's one if my favorites too. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and this most amazing giveaway.

Ack! SO jealous :D I love getting to meet authors. <3 (Only met a few when I was in Orlando, Florida two years back.) Anyway. Sounds like you had an awesome time :) Thank you so much for sharing. <3 Also, signed books are the best. Sigh.

Rachel! You always get to go to these awesome book signing events. I wish they would have more in Denver. They do have some interesting book signings at a book store 40 mins away from the city, but since I don't have a car I can never make it.
I would be really excited it Tammara Webber wrote companion novels to Easy. There are so many characters in that series who have a story tell. Fingers crossed that it will happen. Also, wow! Abbi Glines can write a book in 7 days? I'm impressed. It makes 2 weeks to write a 250 pages paper!
Thanks for sharing, Rachel! You sound like you had a great time.

It only takes Abbi 7 days to write a book? 7 DAYS?!!!!! That's insanity, but I think if I were ever going to try and write a book, I'd need to just sit down and write straight through as she does. I don't think it would happen that quickly for me, but it would have to be my sole focus. If I spread it out too much I don't think I'd ever finish!

Sounds like such an amazing event Rachel, I would love to meet these two!

Suuuper mad jealous. I loved Easy! I wish I lived in the US just for this reason alone - the signings! The easier method of meeting our favorite authors! >_<

In any case, it's amazing Abbi takes only a week to write a book. Mad respect for that woman. It takes dedication and a lot of concentration to be that focused. I wish I could say the same for my WIPS...

Great recap, love! Best of luck to the participants! \o/

It's hard to pick a favorite Abbi Glines book, but I am loving her Sea Breeze series - Bad For You is probably my favorite so far. Gotta love Krit!

WOW! 7 days to finish a book?! I think my fingers would fall off! I find it so fascinating to hear more about what authors do and don't do to write their novels. Thanks for sharing, Rachel!

Holy Shizz. SEVEN DAYS?!? How in the...holy wow. Her outlines must be very detailed to be able to blow through it like that. Good on her! I do love posts like this, since not many authors that I know/like come through Columbia (sad panda) so thanks for sharing!

I'm jealous you were able to step into that Barnes & Nobles -- it looks gorgeous! I'm not a fan of Abbi Glines in the least as her books just don't click for me, but I did enjoy Webber's Easy marginally better and this is such a thorough and well-written re-cap post, Rachel. Thanks for sharing, dear!

That bookstore looks so awesome, Rachel! Lucky girl. ;) I have had a falling out with Abbi Glines' books as her N/A are borderline Erotica, but I'm looking forward to reading that new one by Tammara Webber. How cool of her son to do audio books?! Let's just hope there's not too many cringe-worthy moments while he was reading his mom's book! Lol.

I did read Easy and I did love it! I adore Lucas because of how he helped Jacqueline become a stronger and more confidant woman. I am excited to read more about him and his pov. Thanks for the post and giveaway!
