Shadowed Heart: A Luc and Summer Novel

Best read of last month:
Jasprit: Perfect Couple by Jennifer Echols, this book was just a super fun read, I think I devoured it in like two days, not only did I get the chance to spend time with some of my favourite characters once again, but I also got to hang out with two wonderful main characters!

Rachel:
Vision in Silver by Anne Bishop,  Shadowed Heart by Laura Florand, and After the Night by Linda Howard. Two of my favorite series by authors I'm in awe of in one month! Luc and Summer's continuing romance after the happily-ever-after was beautiful and heart-wrenching! I didn't want Vision in Silver to end and I want to listen to the story on audio once it's released. So, so good! After the Night was my first book by Linda Howard and it will not be the last. All three were 5 star reads for me!

Book which surprised me the most:
Jasprit: Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch, I don't know what I was expecting going into this book, but it certainly wasn't this, the world building was fantastic and super unique!

Rachel:
Spider's Bite by Jennifer Estep. Unfortunately, not in a good way. With so much praise for the series I was hoping to love it, not so in my case. Gin was a cold main character that I found very hard to connect with and the romance was a disappointment. Let's hope the series gets better because I bought the next two books on an Audible sale before "reading" *listening* to the first one.

Fictional crush of the month:
Jasprit: Brody from Perfect Couple, I had the biggest crush on Will in Biggest Flirts, but as soon as Brody came along, I was like Will who? I could so read several more books from Brody, even though a lot of people had ideas of what Brody was like, deep down he was a really sweet guy.

Rachel:
Gray Rouillard in After the Night by Linda Howard. So sexy and bigger than life. Oh my!

Three books I'm most looking forward to this month:

I don't think there's much that I can say about these books than that they're some of my highly anticipated reads for this month. I had received copies of The Winner's Crime and The Mime Order quite a while ago, but decided to wait a while before picking them up. And Bracken's series is becoming one of my favourites yet, I'm sort of sad that I have to say bye to these characters soon :(

Closer Than You Think Worth the Risk (The McKinney Brothers, #2) Burned (Fever, #7)

Closer Than You Think will be my first book by Karen Rose but it seems she writes a lot of romantic suspense and I'm a huge fan of that genre.  Worth the Risk is book two in the McKinney Brothers series by Claudia Connor and I loved the first book! Can't wait to catch up with Abby, Matt and their family as well as meet Stephen and Hannah! Burned by Karen Marie Moning...need I say more? I've been waiting FOREVER for this book so I hope it will be good! Ryodan, here I come!

Bookish Photo:

I love it when a bookstore has all of your favourite authors books in. I about squealed when I saw this shelf at the Foyles store at Charing Cross and it was great to see two of Jenny's books promoted as staff picks. Everyone needs to read books by Jenny Han!

How was your December?

When I see those numbers I wanna cry myself to sleep. I've been having less and less time for reading and I miss it so much. And I need to get to The Winner's Crime as soon as possible :D

Hi ladies! You both had an outstanding month. :D I'm curious about that new Laura Florand series. As you know, I'm in the midst of binge reading her Amour et Chocolat series. So far, it's been an up and down for me. I'm still enjoying them, nonetheless. :D I'm so bummed I missed Worth the Risk on Net Galley. :(

Anyway, Happy New Year to you both! And have a wonderful January!

I am dying for The Winner's crime! Such great reading ahead for you girls this month!

I have Snow Like Ashes from my library ~ I have no idea what to expect either, but I am hoping I like it :)

Hope January turns out to be an awesome reading month

I loved Snow Like Ashes so much Jasprit, I'm glad it was a surprise of the good variety for you! And I'm sorry Spider's Bite was a disappointment Rachel, I adore that series. I will say the first one was my least favorite though, so here's hoping the next couple books work better for you!

*PS - Almost time for BURNED!

I'm so glad you loved Snow Like Ashes. It was so much fun and I can't wait for more. You guys read an impressive amount of books. I think I'm going to join you ladies as from next month to do a monthly recap to keep track of what books I'm reading.
I need to read the Anne Bishop series! From what everyone says I'll love it! :)
Happy reading!

VISION IN SILVERRRRRRRRRR!!!!! I love that book so hard. I haven't read any of the superlatives series, so I need to get on that, apparently. Jasprit, those three anticipate books look intense! I enjoyed both The Mime Order and The Winner's Crime, but crazy things happen in both. You definitely want some fun contemporaries to balance it out. Rachel, I'm super excited to hear everyone's thoughts on Burned. I'm leaning towards waiting until the final 3 books are out to read them together, since KMM likes to drag things out and that worked so well for me with the first 5. But we'll see how I hold up. Happy New Years ladies!

HA! As a fan of Linda Howard, I have to say, I did not love After the Night as much as you did! But...... she always writes her romances so well and you cannot help but ship the couple. :') (except in that one book I read by her..). Also I definitely want to see how you felt about the Karen Rose book! I've seen her books here and there but have never felt the urge to pick them up :P

Jasprit! I am so glad to hear you enjoyed Snow like Ashes! I've been meaning to read that one for a while now so hearing that you liked it was definitely encouraging! I totally know how you feel about reading In the After Light. I have a tendency to put of finales since it's so hard to say bye to characters :( It always leaves you filling empty. I do hope that the book will live up to your expectations and will be amazing and a worthy finale to the series! :)

Happy New Year ladies <3 And I hope both the new year and January bring you many fabulous reads and swoon-worthy book boyfriends :D

I haven't had much luck with Jennifer Echols but I'm glad to see you enjoyed her latest, Jasprit! I'm excited to read your thoughts on The Winner's Crime and Mime Order after you get around to reading them this month.

Rachel, I'm so glad you loved Vision in Silver! I'm looking forward to your review of it and am also curious about this new romance author you've uncovered. Also, I'm glad Burned is finally due to release as it means I can get on Iced soon! :)

Wonderful recap, ladies, and here's to an incredible start to 2015!

Eeeek I'm super worried now Lauren, thanks for the heads up, I shall keep a stack of contemporaries to comfort me afterwards!

Happy New Year to both of you ladies! Looks like you had an awesome November! I'm still undecided if I want to read Jennifer Echols series - the romance sounds suspect to me LOL. I know there's not a love triangle but the lines seem blurred?
I cannot wait to read Vision in Silver and so happy to hear you loved it, Rachel! I'm trying to be good and read my ARCs in order but that one is so tempting. I'm also a fan of After the Night - ho-ly cow is it sexy!
I'm reading The Bone Season right now and hope to finish it by the end of the week. It's so complex!

Happy reading, ladies! <3

In The Afterlight and The Winner's Crime are both so good, ENJOY. Brody was such a cutie from Perfect Couple. I loved his humor and how frank he was. He had a sweet side too though ;)
