The Dark is Rising (and the rest of the series) by Susan Cooper. It's what got me into fantasy. I *still* remember the poem in it, 15 or so years after reading it.

I feel lucky to have read Divergent by Veronica Roth because it was the first book that I truly fell in love with. I was so captivated by it. I would say that book is what started my love for reading.

It's gonna sound strange because it's in a middle of a series but I feel really lucky to read The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead! Getting Adrian's story really helped me for some reason so I'll be forever grateful for Richelle for telling it.

I have to give props to J.K. here, and say the Harry Potter series first. Also, Daughter of Smoke and Bone. This year, I have read Thorn Jack and Briar Queen by Katherine Harbour, and I feel beyond lucky that I found this amazing series, and this amazing author!
